Because if I read another 'doing his hobby' I will scream.

IT'S NOT OUTING. THE VAST MAJORITY OF MALE PARTNERS ON HERE CYCLE, GOLF OR PLAY RUGBY/FOOTBALL.

I'll start. I don't have a hobby as I'm a lone parent with a FT job but I spend any leisure time reading. BF plays golf and take part in several orchestras.

My partner hikes (been with him a few times - my idea of proper hell)
I shop. No, kidding. I love theatre, decorating & reading. They're not "proper" hobbies according to some

I like reading and running.

DH plays in a band.

DH : Guerilla Embroidery
Me: extreme hide and seek.

Maybe. Or maybe not. You decide.

DH : football
Me: another pole dancer over here :)

DH does pottery, I like gardening and volunteering in the community.

He likes pc gaming.

I'm a (very cool) nail polish enthusiast.

I suspect if I share what mine does it really will be outing. Let's just say it's traditional in our culture and leave it at that.

My hobby at the moment seems to be mumsnet! My DH plays in an orchestra.

My husband's hobbies appear to be eating and long-haul toilet visits.

Me: sing in a barbershop chorus
DH: urban exploration/19th century fort and WW2 defence spotting/trying to preserve old buildings in our city (he’s like Daddy Pig, obsessed with concrete).

Will have to name change now as this there can’t be many couples with our hobby combo.

Mine is knitting, DH's is motorbikes.

Amateur Dramatics for both of us...it's how we met. I've just started running and am amazed by how much I enjoy it. ☺

Another bell ringer here, which I spice up with also being interested in old buses. I am truly a catch. DW likes art.

I’m single and mine are knitting, sewing, reading and anything crafty.
My dd (8) loves drawing, knitting and creating art projects.

Climbing, freerunning and outdoor swimming

Boyfriend hiking (goes on hiking holidays with a special group) and playing football.

Me competitive exercise e.g 100 press up challenges etc and piano.

OP, I’m a working lone parent too, there are hobbies out there you can still do.

I help my friends build track/drift cars. :) and we actually take them racing!

Me- horse riding, surfing, shooting, skiing whenever I can
Him- darts, shooting, snowboarding whenever he can!

His are Dungeons and Dragons, cycling, jogging and Airsoft!

If it's traditional in your culture presumably many others from your culture enjoy the same hobby and therefore it's unlikely to identify you??

Can we also stop with the dramatics around "outing". Nobody is "outing" anybody else. Being 'outed' used to refer to somebody identifying somebody else as LGBT without their consent, which is potentially hugely traumatic and harmful. Not the same as Linda from down the road worrying that mentioning her love of historical re-enactments will identify her to a bunch of strangers on an Internet forum about whether or not her MIL is a pain in the arse.
