To get my lips done even though there's nothing technically work with them?

I've attached a pic.

I've been so tempted to get lip fillers put in. There's nothing wrong with my lips per se, but I'd like them bigger. DH thinks I'm being stupid as there's nothing 'wrong' with them. Am I? I feel like the balance is off and I'd like them fuller, also a more defined Cupid's bow. TIA.

Posting again... Don't you dare touch those lips... everyone agrees... there's not one thing wrong with them

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 23/11/2019 21:43

Who on earth keeps telling you such crap and why would you even listen to them?

Is it the person trying to flog you shark oil?

Honestly. I despair sometimes.

lip fillers never look good.

BettysLeftTentacle · 23/11/2019 21:44

Why should your top lip be fully? Says who and who made them important enough to judge how someone should look?

Please don’t put that shit in your face. Work on owning the way you look. You can start by getting rid of whoever it is that’s making you feel insecure in yourself.

80sMum · 23/11/2019 21:45

Don't do it! Please don't. It's always so obvious when someone has had lip fillers. They look bloody awful imo, artificial and out of proportion to the rest of the face.
Your lips are already quite plump. They're fine. They don't need loads of junk injected into them!

4DrivetPrive · 23/11/2019 21:45

If somebody keeps criticising your appearance they are not a friend, and sadly for them they have not invented personality transplants yet. Manners are free though, they could invest in some!

If you really think you want it try and work on your self confidence first, surgery doesn't tend to fix that and you may just see more "issues" after. Tell that someone where to shove it!

BettysLeftTentacle · 23/11/2019 21:45

Fully = fuller obvs

Who is it that's telling you that? A beautician perchance?

People look ridiculous with inflated lips, it's deeply unattractive.

Whatsername7 · 23/11/2019 21:46

All you need is a fabulous lip gloss and some confidence. Flowers

Loopytiles · 23/11/2019 21:47

Lip fillers always look awful.

CodenameVillanelle · 23/11/2019 21:47

Please don't. Filled lips look bloody stupid and destroy women's faces' individual character. You have a beautiful mouth. Don't fuck with it.

ActualHornist · 23/11/2019 21:47

You would benefit more from therapy to stop yourself obsessing about completely imaginary imperfections.

I'd love to know what you're comparing your lips to that they come up lacking.

Elieza · 23/11/2019 21:48

If that’s all that worries you about your body you are doing well!

Your lips are fine. They look plump already. The top lip is slightly thinner but not by any significant amount. You don’t need fillers. In fact fillers may actually make your bottom lip look silly big. Fillers don’t make your lips bigger they make it look like you have a boxing mouth guard on at all times! With fillers your mouth actually sticks out. It’s hideous.

The problem is that some people start small with procedures and before you know it they’ve moved onto bigger things that cost a lot and involve general anaesthetic. Scary stuff. When actually they would be better dealing with whatever need it is they have to appear perfect. We live in such a superficial time just now. Everything seems to be about appearance. Sad really. Don’t get dragged into that nonsense. You look great OP.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 23/11/2019 21:48

I'm shocked.

Please don't do it.

nurseyn · 23/11/2019 21:48

Not a beautician. I'm sorry, I think I shouldn't have posted. They've pointed it out quite a bit recently and said a bit of filler can fix it. I'm feeling low with weight gain and think I'm thinking this would really boost me. Sorry everyone.

Mine was the same my bottom lip was more fuller than the top and I had 1ml of filler and I LOVE IT. Best thing I did. They look fuller and natural

nurseyn · 23/11/2019 21:49

I don't think I'll go through with it, I just want a boost and someone keeps picking it out, so I thought it's give me a boost.

Imo, imperfections are what make your own unique beauty and character, why change to be an 'idealised' version of what we are sold beauty should be? Be you!

I think you should tell whoever is criticising you to fuck off.

Reallynowdear · 23/11/2019 21:51

Please don't touch your lovely lips.

There isn't a person alive who has had a good lip job.

I say this as a woman with Angela Jolie lips, not to brag, but to shout out that lips job just don't work yet.

I have no idea why lip enlargement is so tricky to get right

Don't do it.

FrogCat · 23/11/2019 21:51

Is the person suggesting this jealous of you? Your lips are really lovely.

runoutofideasnow · 23/11/2019 21:52

Next time this helpful person makes a negative remark about your appearance reply that you're perfectly happy thanks.
If you're feeling mean you could get a dig in about their wonky eyebrows or something.

Filler doesn't 'fix' anything, it looks ludicrous.

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 23/11/2019 21:52

You have nice lips. The person who keeps going on at you about them is being nasty. Tell them to shut up.

Save your money and maybe get yourself a really nice lipstick or two, in a colour you love.
