AIBU about Angel Delight?

I think layering different flavours of Angel Delight would be nice. DH thinks the flavours should be kept separated, to maintain their integrity.

I'm referring to banana, chocolate and butterscotch. Not strawberry. Even I wouldn't go that far.

Don't @ me if you don't like Angel Delight. We couldn't be friends.

Oh my days! I thought I was cultured, having had a childhood of banana and strawberry AD. Yet I've never tried butterscotch. It's on the shopping list thanks to this thread.

... Also, during my uni days I used to make 'cheat cheesecake' which was simply bashed up digestive biscuits crammed into a base, with AD on top and put in the fridge to set. Yum!

Asda were selling a mint choc version that was delicious but I cannot find it now

It was always Instant Whip in my house as a child. Didnt have proper Angel Delight till quite recently.

And GTTFSOFTFOSM with your squirt cream on top idea . It HAS to be Dream Topping!!!

You just took me back to my childhood! Banana, chocolate and butterscotch is GORGEOUS

I would only layer butterscotch with more butterscotch because that's far and away the best flavour.

Oh! Girl guides memories - Martian pudding (Mars bars chopped up in chocolate angel delight) and Magic Mushrooms(!) - strawberry AD, a slice of swiss roll to be the stalk and half a tinned peach to be the top.

Love the idea of Neapolitan flavourings, but Butterscotch should always be on its own IMHO.

But the best one ever was mint chocolate 😋😋😋 Which appears to have disappeared again now 😩

I do jelly on the bottom and angel delight on the top once the jelly has set. Like an angel delight triffle cuz I don't like fresh cream or custard!

Butterscotch, banana then chocolate topped with whipped cream crushed flake and chocolate sauce would be like an epic banoffee desert. I really wish I had angel delight in right now!

Jelly with strawberries set in it, sponge/trifle fingers and vanilla angel delight on top with bits of smooshed curly wurly or crunchie (or other choc) yum!

My son has been badgering me to buy some when his nephew comes to stay. I might try the layering idea,but I need to buy the sugar free for mine.

How did it taste? Any pics of it after you had served it.

Seems to be a bit of a cult thing.... Angel Delight desserts.

I think a square dish would have been better @Crunchymum as it was hard to serve equal amounts of each flavour. However, it did taste wonderful and just like Neapolitan ice cream.
