At a friends house using their Google mini. Thankfully they're old enough to already know but still.
AIBU to be pissed off?

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/11/2019 18:17

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/11/2019 18:17

*they

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 23/11/2019 18:18

What did they ask?

dontlickthelamp · 23/11/2019 18:18

What did they ask

TheTrollFairy · 23/11/2019 18:18

Did they ask google if Santa was real? If so, YABU as a robot thing won’t lie

KenDodd · 23/11/2019 18:19

Is father Christmas real?

OP posts:
KayJan · 23/11/2019 18:19

Not really, I mean children just care about gifts, this old man with a beard is everything but normal to entertain a child. I won't make mu child believe in such things

dementedpixie · 23/11/2019 18:20

Why be pissed off if they knew already?

RedDiamond · 23/11/2019 18:20

I just asked Alexa if Father Christmas was real and she said " All I know is that someone has been eating all my mince pies and he looks the type". Grin

ViaSacra · 23/11/2019 18:20

Is father Christmas real?

By the time they've reached the point of asking that question, they're 90% of the way to figuring it out for themselves.

BritWifeinUSA · 23/11/2019 18:20

If they are old enough to use Google and type questions into themselves, they’re too old for Father Christmas. By the time children ask if he’s real or not, they’ve pretty much figured it out already and are just looking for confirmation of their suspicions.

OrangeZog · 23/11/2019 18:21

YABU. If you don’t want children to see things on the internet you need to restrict and monitor their access. There is far worse I would be concerned about a child seeing online.

runoutofideasnow · 23/11/2019 18:21

Ffs 🙄

Slappadabass · 23/11/2019 18:22

My DD asked Alexa and we had the same response about someone eating all the mince pies and santa looks like the type. Can't believe Google didn't say something similar tbh!

wineisnecessary · 23/11/2019 18:22

Eh ?
First world problems,
Think this may be a first on aibu that annoyed with a robot .
Did you expect it to lie ?

Butchyrestingface · 23/11/2019 18:22

I accidentally selected YANBU.

You are being totally unreasonable.

Brimful · 23/11/2019 18:23

I don't understand who or what you're mad at.

Are you mad at Google? For telling your kids what they already know?

Cuddling57 · 23/11/2019 18:24

Yes dedicate it a first world problem!

Redcherries · 23/11/2019 18:27

Can you take it as the starting point for the conversation, I guess it’s the same as hearing it in the playground but it’s not the end of the magic, you just find other ways to make it special.

FlamingoAndJohn · 23/11/2019 18:27

Well I just asked mine and she said ‘I believe he’s up to some pretty cool things at the North Pole this year’.
She is also non committal if you ask her about God, fairies or unicorns.

FlamingoAndJohn · 23/11/2019 18:28

Can't believe Google didn't say something similar tbh!

It does.

Dogsaresomucheasier · 23/11/2019 18:28

Siri just said,
“Let me put it this way, I get a lot of requests from the North Pole asking who has been naughty or nice!”

If they asked they already know, I’m afraid!

PinkyU · 23/11/2019 18:29

Aww, my lo’s would be pretty devastated In this situation, particularly my youngest who is almost 7. I’d be rather unhappy as well op, but given your lo’s already know the secret I think YABU.

JustaScratch · 23/11/2019 18:31

Off topic, but this thread has prompted me to ask Alexa lots of personal questions....

  • what's your favourite colour?
  • what's your favourite food?
  • do you believe in God?
  • what's your favourite song?

I clearly need to get out more, but it was quite amusing.

Crocky · 23/11/2019 18:33

Google just gave me a message about getting presents every year.
