What IS your treat meal?

Mine is mashed potato (ready made from Tesco fridge), with loads of butter and cheese mashed into it.

Then you take a corned beef pasty, heat up in the microwave. Shred into chunks.

Stir this through the mash.

Top with ketchup? Which required marbling into the dish.

😋😋😋😋

Your turn...

Thai curry, any type.

Timeforchange0 · 22/11/2019 18:32

Home made club sandwich.

Starting from the bottom:

Buttered White toast
rocket leaf
chicken breast slices
cucumbers
mayo
2nd slice of buttered toast
Bacon
Tomato
Mayo
3rd slice of buttered toast

BOOM

Tolleshunt · 22/11/2019 18:32

Sausage sandwich, with Dijon mustard and ketchup. Scrumptious.

CardiFree · 22/11/2019 18:34

Ooh yes, sliced sausage sandwich with crunchy lettuce, onion and tons of ketchup.

magicstar1 · 22/11/2019 18:36

Fried eggs, proper deep fried chips, white bread and butter.

Or sourdough bread with mozzarella, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes and mayo.

Haven’t had either in a long time though lol.

SquareAsABlock · 22/11/2019 18:39

Pasta in home made cheese sauce. Lots of extra mature cheddar, I mean like most of a block, with a whole garlic baguette on the side. It's definitely a 'treat', eating it too often would result in a new, xxxl wardrobe.

YorkshirePud1 · 22/11/2019 18:40

A super noodle sandwich.

1Morewineplease · 22/11/2019 18:41

Roast chicken quarter with Hovis Wheatgerm bread ( so much nicer than whole meal and is the traditional recipe , and a tad hard to find now) and butter.
Failing that cheesey mash with bangers.

Greywalls12 · 22/11/2019 18:44

Homemade vegetable curry left overs made into a toastie with melted cheese
Must make this soon! Bastard DH doesn't like curry so i haven't made it in years

Baguetteaboutit · 22/11/2019 18:45

Chip butty with scraps and enough salt and vinegar to dry your blood up.

36degrees · 22/11/2019 18:45

Mushroom omelette with a slab of the orangiest cheddar you can find folded into the middle. It's a very occasional treat as everyone else in the house hates mushrooms but I love them.

RedHelenB · 22/11/2019 18:49

Mini cheddar sandwich with ketchup and Bovril.

Flibbitygibbit · 22/11/2019 18:55

Boil macaroni .add tomato purée. Add ready grated Red Leicester cheese. Stick in oven for 20 minutes. Accompany with white bread and butter and a drizzle of tomato sauce. Bloody YUM

Eckhart · 22/11/2019 19:04

Baguetteaboutit

enough salt and vinegar to dry your blood up.

Made me laugh out loud!

theEnglishInPatient · 22/11/2019 19:29

a bowl of cereal

It tastes so much better in the evening as a dinner than it tastes for breakfast.

scaryteacher · 22/11/2019 19:29

Toast with crunchy peanut butter, cheese and apricot jam
Bacon sandwich
Cheese on toast with spaghetti hoops and a fried egg on top
Steak Roquefort, frites and a cherry beer (sadly, no longer available as I moved back to the UK from Belgium and no longer live opposites the frituur)

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 22/11/2019 19:32

Red onion and feta pizza

Pepperoni pizza

Ham and mushroom pizza

Marguerita pizza

All with tomatoey, cheesy garlic bread

Followed by malteasers

(There might be a slight theme emerging 😂)

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 22/11/2019 19:33

Oh and mussels cooked in white wine and garlic with lots of crusty French bread and no salad in sight

BedraggledBlitz · 22/11/2019 19:33

Ooh I'm getting lots of meal ideas here. Veg nachos tomorrow I think!

DBML · 22/11/2019 19:34

Coco pops for dinner/tea is also one of my favourite and feels like a treat.

burritofan · 22/11/2019 19:41

Student's pad Thai: chicken flavour super noodles with some peanuts and lemon juice stirred in

Macaroni cheese, oven baked with lots of crunchiness on top, with hot sauce and ketchup

But best of all is a really slutty fish finger sandwich: plasticky ready-sliced bread, buttered, so the hot fish fingers melt the butter to form a fat seal; topped with ketchup and sharp homemade tartrate sauce with a profligate excess of gherkins in it, shredded iceberg lettuce, processed cheese slice. With chips.

(I'm hungry)

Oysterbabe · 22/11/2019 19:41

Steak pie, chips and beans.

zemblanity · 22/11/2019 19:43

My mums macaroni cheese.

catinb0oots · 22/11/2019 19:46

Poor man's nachos.

4 bags of Wotsits topped with a few cheese slices and/or a handful of grated cheese. Microwave for 30s. Bung anything vaguely Mexican found lurking in the fridge on the top. Salsa, sour cream, some jalapeños. Eat with a serving spoon and a pint of Pepsi max.
