to suggest that Mumsnet is quite sexist against men?

I don't know if it's just the threads I've been on. I don't know how many men use Mumsnet.

Sexism either way makes me equally uncomfortable. How do other Mumsnet users feel about this?

too right i stoop to their level. Again and again ive seen where 'be the bigger person' actually gets people. Shat all over.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 18/11/2019 18:48

The sexism here is sometimes awful

There's none so blind as those that will not see.

Funny that, when Male posters have actually defended Mumsnet and said they don’t find it sexist. 🤷‍♀️

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 18:48

On the contrary @Theendofmyrope

And I'm very aware that many people have had the most horrific crimes perpetrated against them by some men.

My bleating is just as valid as yours, and that of the 'poor menz'.

OP posts:
APerkyPumpkin · 18/11/2019 18:49

To those who assume I am male, please tell me why you are making this assumption.

Because you spent days trying to get cocks into women's changing rooms? Just a thought.

Yes, we all have men who we like/love/put up with - but that doesn't mean we cannot analyse predominantly male behaviour against predominantly female humans. And therefore want protections for women and girls to try and reduce female victims.

Probably about the right time to post this video.

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 18:50

@Hauntedpinecone We'll have to agree to differ, I think.

My husband doesn't think twice about - walking back to his car in the dark - walking home on his own at night - keeping the door locked when he's in the house on his own - checking the back seats of the car before he gets in at night etc etc the list is endless.

I don’t think twice about those things either.

This thread pretty well answers your question, OP. I was horrified by the misandry on MN - and I’ve been a feminist for the best part of 50 years.

Sagradafamiliar · 18/11/2019 18:51

Your agenda really is laughably transparent, OP.

Theendofmyrope · 18/11/2019 18:51

For me it doesn't matter the proportions

It bloody should do! You come across as very ignorant and goady

don't know what sealioning is?

Google it then

ilyjccs · 18/11/2019 18:51

YANBU OP.

JacquesHammer · 18/11/2019 18:52

Yeah who gives a shit that 74% of violent crime is perpetrated by males.

Down with proportions.

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 18:54

@APerkyPumpkin I spent days trying to get locked doors and adequate security between individuals so that nobody's cock or anything else could intrude on anybody else's private space. Can't believe I'm having to say it again.

Want it again? Locked doors and adequate security.
Again? Locked doors and adequate security.
Are you starting to get an idea of my agenda yet?
It's 'Locked doors and adequate security'.

For anybody else who's unsure of my agenda, please check out my previous thread.

Complete and utter bollocks. If you’re a feminist, you’d know there’s no such thing as misandry. It’s a name coined by those who have power over the sex known as female, in order to demand that women stop getting above themselves.

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 18:56

I'm glad there's some people on here who think I'm not being unreasonable. I'm getting shredded!

OP posts:
Bartlet · 18/11/2019 18:56

There are a group of hugely bitter women on here who will go to the ends of the earth to justify bad behaviour by women and castigate men for the slightest transgression.

They tend to hang around the relationship threads spouting bile and trying to make everyone as miserable as them. After a few threads it becomes totally apparent why their partner left them or cheated on them but they will forever play the martyr and injured party.

The rest of the site is pretty balanced for a place which is mostly one sex. You can bet that sites which are predominantly male have their nutjob bitter contingent too. Probably the difference is that they’re taking it out physically and emotionally on whatever real life partner has the misfortune to be with them.

Theendofmyrope · 18/11/2019 18:57

Yeah who gives a shit that 74% of violent crime is perpetrated by males

It's actually 78% but that figure will probably start to fall now that men can magically turn into women and have it recorded as such.

I rest my case.

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 18:59

@JacquesHammer More than a quarter of violent crime is perpetrated by women? That's quite a lot.

OP posts:
HauntedPinecone · 18/11/2019 19:01

You are becoming really transparent now mate.

JacquesHammer · 18/11/2019 19:01

That's quite a lot

Is it anywhere near as much as three-quarters? Do you understand how percentages work?

JacquesHammer · 18/11/2019 19:02

Yawn

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 19:03

@Bartlet I think that's a good point about how the 'nutjob bitter contingent' take out their anger. The vitriol on here (this thread and others) is phenomenal. Clearly can't ask a question about sexism going both ways without being cast as a supporter of misogyny (at the very least)

AutumnCrow · 18/11/2019 19:05

Is it Denis Waterman?

I’m waiting for the “they’re all bitter lesbians” to be chucked at us, any minute. 🤣

Eckhart · 18/11/2019 19:06

@HauntedPinecone I get it, you've seen through me.

@JacquesHammer Yes, my maths isn't too bad, thanks. A quarter is a statistic worth noting, in any statistician's book.

Are you denying the overwhelming majority of violent crime is perpetrated by men?

(You don’t need to tag me thanks, I’m on the thread. I still get notifications despite turning them off and would rather not)
