Just that.
Although he is being asked the wrong questions.

Do you want to discuss this seriously? Okay.

Your posts are increasingly eccentric.

diddl · 18/11/2019 10:06

"The royals do have form for casting out members, Edward VIII for one."

Wasn't it him who referred to HM & the Queen Mother as "ice veined bitches"?

derxa · 18/11/2019 10:06

Andrew has always been a person devoid of emotional intelligence. His use of language has always been odd and stilted. He doesn't understand what he did wrong. Fergie is similar. The same type of language which doesn't chime well with people nowadays.
I think they were completely entangled in financial chicanery and hence the 4 day stay in New York.

Roussette · 18/11/2019 10:12

churchandstate I cannot for one minute imagine Epstein, with all his proclivities and disgusting behaviour, would move the ornaments, the naked women, the paintings, the human chessboard, the chandelier with life size woman draped over it, etc etc.... that man did what he wanted and the benefit of the relationship was not on his side, but on Prince andrew's. PA said so in the newsnight interview.

As for the girl being told she is sleeping with PA when it isn't him. Why? Nowhere in any evidence that I have read (and I have followed this case since Epstein's first conviction) has there been emphasis on the drugging of the girls. The emphasis was on the manipulation. They were coerced, they came from disadvantaged backgrounds, they were broke, he exploited their weaknesses, he manipulated them, he offered to help with their careers, he arranged private doctors visits, he groomed them.

This sums it up. They were not dependent on drugs off their heads sleeping with someone they thought was Prince Andrew

“He would find out they have no home, no car, that they need a place to live, and he would provide a place to live,’’ Edwards said. “He can get you to the best doctors. Sometimes he would do that and sometimes he wouldn’t do that, but the promise was real because as soon as you walk into his house and see there are legitimate cooks, chefs, and assistants, everybody catering to him — it gives this air of legitimacy. I mean, everybody in this whole entire mansion can’t possibly be running an illegal sex trafficking operation, right?”

YABU.

Roussette · 18/11/2019 10:16

I think you and Piers are off to a great new start

'You don't need anything like hindsight to know not to be the guest at the home of a convicted sex offender!'

Exactly, what on earth was he thinking. He needed to show regret, humility and sympathy for the victims. Who on earth advise the royal family? Any questioning should have been done in a legal setting not with a BBC journalist.

churchandstate · 18/11/2019 10:20

Doubleraspberry

There is. But a) he disputes the veracity of it and b) a photo of him with his arm round her proves they met, it doesn’t prove anything else.

churchandstate · 18/11/2019 10:23

Roussette

But again, you are surmising based on what is likely, or what you have assumed, not on facts. It is not impossible that Prince Andrew was skilfully dupes. As you yourself say, Epstein was manipulative. Do I think he was duped? No, I can’t say I do. But any decent barrister will drive a coach and horses through the argument that it’s impossible to move some paintings around. It’s not. Equally, they will focus on he credibility of the witnesses, their age and their lack of familiarity with the people they are accusing. These are facts.

churchandstate · 18/11/2019 10:23

EntropyRising

Be that as it may, I don’t think I am wrong.

Gin96 · 18/11/2019 10:27

I think the Royal family need to banish Prince Andrew after this or the whole thing is going to unravel very badly. He should be given a council house and live off UC for the rest of his life 😊

Eugenie must be mortified. From Town&Country magazine:

"Human trafficking has long been an important cause for Eugenie. She first became passionate about it after visiting a charity named Women's Interlink during a 2013 trip to India with her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York. The organization centers around improving the lives of vulnerable women and children through employment opportunities and assistance."

Roussette · 18/11/2019 10:32

churchandstate
Well .... unfortunately we will never know because unless PA is questioned by the authorities, he can say what he likes, and the 'scenarios' you talk of cannot be verified because he is protected.

BTW I am quoting the victims

p.s. it wasn't just some paintings. Far far more than that.

Alsohuman · 18/11/2019 10:33

what he thought were sex workers and were actually trafficked girls

You do know that a lot of sex workers are trafficked?

churchandstate · 18/11/2019 10:35

You do know that a lot of sex workers are trafficked?

I do. I am making the point that he probably assumed they were delighted to be there. Because he’s entitled.

BertrandRussell · 18/11/2019 10:37

“ You do know that a lot of sex workers are trafficked?”

Mumsnet does not, generally accept this fact.

BertrandRussell · 18/11/2019 10:38

James O’Brian has just called his lack of sympathy/empathy “pathological”

Roussette · 18/11/2019 10:40

The lawyer for the victims is speaking with Victoria Derbyshire live now.

She is taking no prisoners and she sums up everything I think.

Mrsjayy · 18/11/2019 10:43

James O’Brian has just called his lack of sympathy/empathy “pathological”

What does this mean ?

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 18/11/2019 10:43

Mumsnet does not, generally accept this fact.

Huh?

churchandstate · 18/11/2019 10:43

p.s. it wasn't just some paintings. Far far more than that.

Again, however true, PA will say there was nothing like that in sight when he stayed there, and that isn’t impossible.

Alsohuman · 18/11/2019 10:49

Of course it’s fucking impossible @churchandstate.

churchandstate · 18/11/2019 10:50

Alsohuman

In what way is it impossible for a man with practically unlimited money and a large staff to put away compromising objects in his home? Are you suggesting he wouldn’t have people to do it? Anywhere to store it? Ample notice that PA was going to be his guest? I don’t understand what you believe to be insurmountable here.

BertrandRussell · 18/11/2019 10:50

@CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook - have you ever been on a Mumsnet thread about porn or prostitution? I don’t advise it if you haven’t........

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 18/11/2019 10:59

Did JE get a valet to put his conviction away in a cupboard when PA visited. Is that why PA felt it was ok to stay at his house.
