Just breathed in some green mould dust from a lemon.

I was clearing out our fruit bowl and found a very green dusty mouldy lemon at the bottom. As I went to throw it in the bin a large cloud of the mouldy dust flew up into my face and I’ve managed to inhale a good few lung fulls!

Should I be worried and evacuating the house or just carry on with my Friday evening gin and tonic.

The more I’m thinking about it the more I’m coughing!

Just carry on. What else would you do?

behindlocknumbernine · 15/11/2019 17:36

Panic not. You will be fine. Drink gin.

Mookie81 · 15/11/2019 17:36

You've got 12 hrs left...

MitziK · 15/11/2019 17:38

To get a few lungfuls, that lemon must have been the size of a basketball.

I wouldn't recommend vaping lemon mould, but I doubt you're going to keel over, turn a bright green and then drift away in a cloud of spores.

I can’t tell if people are being serious on here anymore

Hazardd · 15/11/2019 17:40

If you have a mould allergy I'd take an antihistamine... other than that you'll be fine.

BatEaredFox · 15/11/2019 17:40

A&E.

AppleOrchard · 15/11/2019 17:40

Here I am in my cold, lonely store cupboard about to lock up for the night and your post made me laugh OpGrin I hope you don't mind! Cos I've done it myself and I'm sure you'll be fine.
Enjoy yrGin

“ I can’t tell if people are being serious on here anymore”

😂

Are you asthmatic OP? I am so if this happened to me I’d use some nasal rinse and gargle.

totallyfrusted · 15/11/2019 17:41

Thanks everyone!

It was a very a very impressive dust cloud from lemon.

I shall carry on with the gin and tonic for medicinal purposes only of course 😀

I’m not sure if it’s the dust or lemon that has affected my ability to type a coherent sentence

Are you high? Might try it...

Noodlewave · 15/11/2019 17:47

managedmis · 15/11/2019 17:52

Good one, joon

Hmm
ClashCityRocker · 15/11/2019 17:55

Who puts lemons in a fruit bowl anyway?!

It's not as if you think 'hmm, I fancy I bit of fruit, I'll have that nice lemon'.

Op, hopefully you'll be fine, but I urge you to rethink your fruit bowl arrangement.

NannaNoodleman · 15/11/2019 17:56

It was lovely knowing you this brief time, OP.

Have you any hymns in mind for your service?

MoreSexPleaseImBritish · 15/11/2019 17:58

you are definitely going to die- ring everyone you know and tell them you love/hate them before its too late

Pottedtree · 15/11/2019 17:59

You are going to slowly turn into a lemony super hero....just wait for it. Or a mouldy one. Let's hope for lemon.

totallyfrusted · 15/11/2019 18:00

Are lemons not fruit? I keep them there so they are easily accessible for my gin and tonic.

Is there a special place to keep lemons that I haven’t been aware of?

Omg I did this once too! FYI I did end up ringing 111 because I was still coughing a couple of days later - they said that mould is not toxic so nothing to worry about. I'll be interested to know of you carry on coughing for days because they implied that was just an unrelated coincidence...

behindlocknumbernine · 15/11/2019 18:02

My lemons are in your fruit bowl. Where else should they be?
H

GreenTulips · 15/11/2019 18:04

Lemons are kept in the fridge

Mould from fruit is used for all sorts of things

MumPo71 · 15/11/2019 18:04

I also keep my lemons and my limes in my fruit bowl - alongside my other fruit! 🙋‍♀️
