This is lighthearted!

People that don't cut toast or sandwiches In half to eat them! Drives me mad.

Just saying.

Doesn't it depend on the type of loaf and the impact that has on the size of potential slices?? For example, if you buy a cob or similar, then there will be different sized pieces depending where you are in the loaf. Pieces at either end can be eaten whole, pieces in the middle may need to be cut. If you go for a french loaf, you may decide to cut into chunks and then slice down the middle..

Thank you to this thread. I have just had the most delicious lunch. I added mushrooms and American mustard to my burger and cheese and burger sauce.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 13/11/2019 13:48

Fellow toaster folderers unite GrinBrew

Im also a pizza slice folderer Grin

I probably fold any foldable food if im honest. All the easier for inserting into gob.

God im fucking hungry rn ha

AgnesGrundy · 13/11/2019 13:50

Why would anyone cut a slice of toast? That's just wrong, unless your 2 or 92 and frail...

Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 13:50

I do like folding pizza. Comes from eating lots of tarte flambé which you roll or fold. Yum.

fuckyouelsa · 13/11/2019 13:51

I eat mine crust first Grin

MoiraRose · 13/11/2019 13:52

Sandwiches get cut in half (or quarters) but toast is left whole. I like it to still be hot and cutting it is too time consuming

Myshitisreal · 13/11/2019 13:53

Oh goodness 😂 if I purchase a sandwich or toast based product while out, it ruins my day to have it cut into triangles. Its so impractical, sandwiches fillings fall out, and I wouldn't use it to make a sandwich myself if toasted and having bacon and eggs. The only time I eat triangular sandwiches would be at a funeral. I cut my sandwiches in two, and eat the square crust end first, followed by the rounder ends as its the nicer bit 😂 I don't think I'm alone in doing this 🤔. I like soldiers for dippy eggs, and prefer my toast uncut as I can then decide to either make a sandwich, or use a knife and fork. Toasted cheese is also uncut, eat the crusts first then the juicy cheesy middle 🤤 My husband eats sandwiches and all toast based products uncut, he just prefers them that way

AgnesGrundy · 13/11/2019 13:54

Yes, toast must be hot - like tea and coffee. The first bite of a hot slice of buttered toast is so satisfying. If the toast has been cut you don't have the same bite area plus it's a bit like warm. Disappointing and unsatisfactory, like Luke warm tea or coffee...

thenightsky · 13/11/2019 13:55

Cutting toast is just allowing more time for it to go cold. Get it down you fast!

userxx · 13/11/2019 13:56

When my boyfriend cooks burgers he cuts them in half, mine included. Just leave it be for FFS.

thenightsky · 13/11/2019 13:56

Oh, crossed post with Agnes Grin

spanglydangly · 13/11/2019 14:18

I cannot agree with toast folding.... sorry!

I prefer my toast cool - cut into triangles and placed in a toast rack. So I can have the crispness of the toast and creaminess of the butter at the same time.

PixieDustt · 13/11/2019 15:26

I cut a burger in half Hmm. It's less messy and easier to eat

TheNoodlesIncident · 13/11/2019 15:38

I cut sandwiches (triangles if it's two pieces of bread) but never toast. DSis told me forlornly that BIL had made her toast for her breakfast in bed but he had cut the toast into pieces Shock Well, it was clearly ruined by that so I commiserated with her. For us toast has to be the way nature intended it; butter covering every square millimetre of the slice so no dry bits of any size, so that you can hold the slice, nibble the crust off all the way round, then start eating the middle piece going across and down it like a snakes & ladders board.

We both eat toast exactly the same way, so I knew BIL had wrecked it (inadvertently) by cutting it into bits.

DriftingLeaves · 13/11/2019 16:55

Can't you ask HQ for a warning about toast folding. I'm quite traumatised.

Stickybeaksid · 13/11/2019 17:10

Toast can never be cut. You need to eat all the crusts first so you are left with the “fillet of toast” this is the best bit which must be eaten last.

iklboo · 13/11/2019 17:16

All sandwiches and toast should be cut. Even barmcakes.

The first time I went to MIL's for tea she put a big plate of bread on the table. Then a tub of marg with a knife stuck in it like Excalibur. My poor dainty sensibilities were quite offended.

I soon got over it though Grin.

Bluntness100 · 13/11/2019 17:18

I agree op but people who cut burgers in half drive me mad too

I cut mine into quarters.

I'll get my coat. 🤣

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 13/11/2019 17:25

I only eat burgers with a knife and fork, drives dp potty.

Toast and sandwiches should be cut into rectangles, triangles is just wrong. Doesn’t the filling fall out of the sandwich if you don’t cut it?

Alicatz66 · 13/11/2019 17:27

Triangles !! And I cut mine into quarters !!

80skid · 13/11/2019 17:28

I love to eat toast whole. It winds my other half up something chronic Grin. Who would do it with a sandwich though ???? That's just odd

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/11/2019 17:31

I prefer my toast cool

That's bordering on perversion. You need professional help.

Toast can never be cut. You need to eat all the crusts first so you are left with the “fillet of toast” this is the best bit which must be eaten last.

Stickybeak - you are my spirit animal! "Fillet of toast". Genius!

AllStarBySmashMouth · 13/11/2019 17:33

I usually do but sometimes I get lazy and don't botherGrin
