Just seen, it Boris walking through an office and making a cup of tea while exchanging jolly convos with workers.

I have never ever seen such a pile of complete WANK in my life! And at 58, I've seen many political ads...

Honestly, do they think people are stupid or are they trying to throw the election?

OP posts:
Trewser · 14/11/2019 08:43

I just think all the political parties are trying to provide good material for when Spitting Image returns

I so hope it does come back.

I always wonder if people who know JC well would say oh actually he's really fun with a dry wit and sense of humour. He seems so utterly devoid of positivity and humour.

Disclaimer - i am aware this is a shallow thought about someone who is taking life very seriously

Clavinova · 14/11/2019 08:45

Look miserable, but Amber Rudd isn’t warning you not to be alone with them.

She's not suggesting that at all! She thinks he's not 'serious' enough;

the EU slapped that statement down since Turkey are in no way at all about to join the EU and never have been.

Not at the time they didn't!

From their own website:

"Meeting of the EU heads of state or government with Turkey, 29 November 2015"

"The EU and Turkey agreed to re-energise Turkey's accession process to the European Union.High-level dialogue between both parties will be reinforced through more frequent and structured meetings including the organisation of summits twice a year."

www.consilium.europa.eu/en/meetings/international-summit/2015/11/29/

"EU-Turkey statement, 18 March 2016"

"5)The fulfilment of the visa liberalisation roadmap will be accelerated vis-à-vis all participating Member States with a view to lifting the visa requirements for Turkish citizens at the latest by the end of June 2016, provided that all benchmarks have been met."

"7)The EU and Turkey welcomed the ongoing work on the upgrading of the Customs Union."

"8)The EU and Turkey reconfirmed their commitment to re-energise the accession process as set out in their joint statement of 29 November 2015."

www.consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2016/03/18/eu-turkey-statement/

"Accession conference with Turkey 30 June 2016"

Boris Johnson is a founder member of the Conservative Friends of Turkey;
"Congratulations Boris Johnson!"
"Congratulations to our founder member Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP, new leader of the Conservative Party and the Prime Minister."

To use a MN buzzword, sounds like the advert is a massive display of ENTITLEMENT. They can’t be bothered to earn your vote and have got most the MSM badmouthing Labour on their behalf. Weirdly they think Boris, sorryAlexander, Johnson and is fake persona is an asset when in fact I think he turns off far more people than he attracts.

Cam77 · 14/11/2019 09:31

Al Johnson is a piece of shit and would almost put me off voting Tory by himself even if I could stomach their attitudes and decision toward the more vulnerable people in society, which I obviously can’t. That’s before we even get onto Brexit.

UndertheCedartree · 14/11/2019 10:21

Boris Johnson has obviouly never made himself a cup of tea in his life - says it all.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2019 10:28

The way he was holding it reminded me of when children can’t keep a cup of liquid level while talking and you instinctively reach out and take it. I was gesturing ineffectively at the screen.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2019 10:33

Here

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 10:43

Bertrand Grin

When all this mess is over Michael Spicer must be up for a knighthood. Bit like in the war, anyone who can make you laugh at the awfulness deserves all our gratitude.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 10:45

Also.. I was gesturing ineffectively at the screen.

Same here! My eyes were fixed on the mug of tea waiting for it to slop over..years of training Grin

Trewser · 14/11/2019 10:46

I was also stressed by the tea Grin

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:06

I like Boris and think he'll walk this election. Mainly because the alternatives are absolutely terrible

That's if he gets to the end of the campaign Trewser. Johnson is currently directly involved in two investigations which could lead to criminal charges as well as trying to supress information about Russian interference in UK politics - well, let's just say I wouldn't bet the rent on him..

KamikazeIdiot · 14/11/2019 11:13

Did you see him mopping the flood water the other day? He's obviously never used a mop in his fucking life.

When has Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson ever lived on a planet where people like him needed to know how to use a mop?

The whole point of Conservatism is that some people are born to mop and others are born to have mopping done for them. The peculiar thing is how many millions of moppers genuinely believe Conservatives are on their side and consistently vote to reinforce the non-moppers' right to be mopped for.

Clavinova · 14/11/2019 11:18

The Michael Spicer video is hilarious - but isn't Boris lovely - Jeremy Corbyn has got less charisma than a leek from his allotment. Grin

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:22

Erm, no it isn't 🤣🤣

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:23

We'll see arse.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:29

but isn't Boris lovely
Good one Grin

Jeremy Corbyn has got less charisma than a leek from his allotment
And yet he's the leader of the party with by far the biggest membership in the UK. So maybe being a good leader is about more than just superficial charisma...you've blown my mind!

Can't win an election though can he? Amazing how far a bit of charisma can get you!

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:32

We'll see arse.

We certainly will Trewser, the whole world will see and it won't be pretty. Putin won't be able to save Johnson from all his transgressions. Even if he does get through the election I predict a very sticky end soon after. Shock

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:32

Some people on here would bitch about him even if he brought about world peace and an end to hunger yep

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:33

Blimey arse that does sound a bit nuts.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:34

Can't win an election though can he? Amazing how far a bit of charisma can get you!

To be fair he's only had one go so far and caused a massive upset that confounded all the pollsters and pundits. Meanwhile, Johnson hasn't won an election either so we've yet to see how fooled people are by that Uncle Boris act

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:37

Blimey arse that does sound a bit nuts

You're right, it is nuts Trewser Shock

I always thought of our country as above such corruption, it has been a big awakening for a lot of people.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:40

Some people on here would bitch about him even if he brought about world peace and an end to hunger

What a bizarre thing to say about the leader of a government which has been responsible for huge rises in crime and poverty.
