Just seen, it Boris walking through an office and making a cup of tea while exchanging jolly convos with workers.

I have never ever seen such a pile of complete WANK in my life! And at 58, I've seen many political ads...

Honestly, do they think people are stupid or are they trying to throw the election?

“ Well that’s hogwash for starters ”
Are you saying that there is less crime and poverty since the Tories got into power?

“I am dubious about the government being responsible for crime, obviously.”
Well, a significant reduction in police numbers must have contributed, surely?
What about poverty- are you saying that government policy has nothing to do with that?

yolofish · 14/11/2019 12:59

Like BertrandRussell I too am a bit of a sucker for a posh boy with floppy hair - I married one after all, although he has subsequently become less posh and his hair less floppy.

I just simply can't understand what people like/find attractive/find inspiring in Johnson. To me he seems shallow, not that clever (over-educated perhaps), easily led by the wrong people and determined to have his own way. Add in adulterous, duplicitous, mendacious.

I blame the parents... or the nanny... something went very wrong in his upbringing.

and thankfully It does not resemble my RL experience

Are we in the presence of...Royalty?? Shock

noblegiraffe · 14/11/2019 13:02

but isn't Boris lovely

He’s a shambling mess. Once you’ve seen him as the Honey Monster you can’t unsee it,

CendrillonSings · 14/11/2019 13:32

In the same way that once you’ve seen Corbyn as Albert Steptoe, you can’t unsee it...

Johnson reminds me of that dodgy Uncle that you thought was so much fun when you were a gullible kid. Later on you find out the reason you haven't seen him for ten years is because he's in jail

CendrillonSings · 14/11/2019 14:09

Corbyn reminds me of that dodgy Uncle whose Marxist fantasies and crank conspiracy theories you thought were so much fun when you were a gullible kid. Later on you find out the reason you haven't seen him for thirty years is because he's running the Labour Party... Grin

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 14:12

Nah, that doesn't work Cendrillon

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 14:13

But keep trying, don't let me put you off! Smile

CendrillonSings · 14/11/2019 14:32

Nah, that doesn't work

A lot like Corbyn then! Grin

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 14:48

No, no.. that's dreadfully lame Cendrillon Sad.

I know it's tedious having to counter every single remark about Corbyn on MN with a pointless insult but it seems to be your job so you must at least try to do it better

Anniegetyourgun · 14/11/2019 15:09

What was that about a leaflet to every household? I got a shiny official-looking leaflet through, glanced at it and flipped it over to DS, advising him to read it as he was in some doubt as to whether Leave or Remain was the best way forward. He did so, like a dutiful son, and then said confusedly, knowing that I was in favour of Remain, that he didn't understand why anyone would want to stay in the EU. I said "What?" Read the small print and guess what, it was produced by the ERG. Never saw the one I was expecting, from the actual Government, containing actual facts (mostly - hopefully). I think Dave thought standing up looking magisterial and pronouncing that he thought we ought to stay in because er..., plus George in the background threatening us with a really miserable budget if we dared vote leave, would be enough. They seemed quite surprised that it wasn't.

A propos of nothing in particular, it was interesting to see Justanotherlurker carrying on the sterling, or is that stirring, work here as seen from time to time on the Trump threads.

Re Boris: He's not as stupid as he pretends to be, but not nearly as clever as he believes himself to be. That's pretty much it really.

Honestly, do they think people are stupid?

I guess that if they vote the twats back in then the answer to that question is yes, and yes, they are correct in that assumption.

Get Brexit done, my arse. We'll still be negotiating trade deals with dodgy countries long after Trump has bought our NHS.

slipperywhensparticus · 14/11/2019 16:33

I think the houses of parliament are full of criminals there behaviour is criminal has anyone SEEN pmqt babies get on better

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2019 16:37

If people really think that “Get Brexit Done” is anything but a meaningless slogan, then there really is no hope for us.
