Just seen, it Boris walking through an office and making a cup of tea while exchanging jolly convos with workers.

I have never ever seen such a pile of complete WANK in my life! And at 58, I've seen many political ads...

Honestly, do they think people are stupid or are they trying to throw the election?

I a not a bot and have voted conservative since I was old enough to vote (although before then I was a member of the Ecology Party (now green party) when I was about 14 or 15 - I still have my membership card and my student son took a picture of it recently......). I have a signed photo and note from Margaret Thatcher in my office who did so much for this country.

I now people are divided as they were back even in 1906 when my grandfather was putting on some political events in NE England against communism. He was then a liberal and then an independent (just locally where he lived).

we never knew what my mother voted as she said it was a private matter and never told anyone. That is a perfectly reasonable stance too particularly as so many people have strong views.

I am hoping for a Conservative majority but no one should stay home thinking it is in the bag. Get out there and vote. There is a good chance my sons will cancel out my vote here where we live but even so I want them to vote. I will not be secretly shredding their postal vote cards - i will be posting them to them at university. [And we all did vote Remain - everyone in the family. There are a lot of Tory remainers in the country, although that boat has sailed now]

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:42

Well, we'll see. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure.

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:43

I know you aren't a bot Xenia, I've always admired your principles even if i haven't always agreed!

Alsohuman · 14/11/2019 11:43

Plus, banging on about Russian interference makes you sound a bit nuts

Why is the report being suppressed then? It’s hardly “nuts” to suspect there’s a reason for that.

KamikazeIdiot · 14/11/2019 11:46

The whole point of Conservatism is that some people are born to mop and others are born to have mopping done for them

Erm, no it isn't 🤣🤣

Erm. Yes it is. It's about entrenching privilege for those who already have it and denying opportunity to others.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2019 11:47

I honestly can’t see the charm and charisma in Johnson- and I’m a sucker for a posh boy. I like people who look competent and he just doesn’t. For all I know he is but is pretending not to be for some reason I’m not clever enough to understand.

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:49

No it isn't. Conservatism is about reducing people's reliance on the state and expanding entrepreneurship and the free market. Politics 101.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2019 11:49

And incidentally I have no problem with him not being able to mop or know how much milk costs. I don’t want him to spend any time mopping. He’s the bloody Prime Minister- he should have more important things to do.

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:52

He does seem to spend a lot of time visiting schools which i rather like.

Clavinova · 14/11/2019 11:52

Meanwhile, Johnson hasn't won an election either so we've yet to see how fooled people are by that Uncle Boris act

He has - twice for London Mayor - in Labour controlled London.

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:52

And the Olympics were bloody brilliant, to be fair.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:53

Investigation into Johnson and Arcuri allegations here

Result of the Vote Leave Campaign Electoral Fraud investigation handed to the Crown Prosection Service here

Questions as to why Johnson won't allow publication of the 'Russian Interference' dossierhere

Alsohuman · 14/11/2019 11:53

You forgot punishing people with disabilities, physical and mental illnesses and who are homeless @Trewser. What you want is a race to the bottom for anyone who hasn’t got money.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:54

He has - twice for London Mayor - in Labour controlled London

Wonder if there's anything about that in the suppressed report?

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:55

I agree wholeheartedly that the Conservative party need to spend more on social care. They've said that they will. I hope so.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 11:55

He's certainly proved a good friend to Russian Oligarchs buying up London

Alsohuman · 14/11/2019 11:55

And the Olympics won the bid to come here under a Labour government.

Trewser · 14/11/2019 11:56

And the Olympics won the bid to come here under a Labour government

Even THINKING about the current Labour party organising the Olympics gives me the heebs.

KamikazeIdiot · 14/11/2019 11:58

No it isn't. Conservatism is about reducing people's reliance on the state and expanding entrepreneurship and the free market. Politics 101.

Dogshit. That's Conservative Party propaganda 101; nothing to do with reality.

Encouraging a situation where employment is so poorly paid and/or irregular/precarious that people with jobs depend on benefits to survive is not "reducing people's reliance on the state".

There is no such thing as a free market. Markets are either regulated (by the state) or rigged (by the larger participants).

Alsohuman · 14/11/2019 12:01

Even THINKING about the current Labour party organising the Olympics gives me the heebs.

And the relevance of that is precisely what?

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 12:05

Conservatism is about reducing people's reliance on the state

Yes, by cutting them off from medical and social care, welfare, education, policing. If you're rich you can pay privately, if you're not that's just tough

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2019 12:31

“ Even THINKING about the current Labour party organising the Olympics gives me the heebs.”

You do know that the prime minister doesn’t personally organise great national events, don’t you? They have people for that!

Clavinova · 14/11/2019 12:33

Investigation into Johnson and Arcuri allegations
It's not an investigation - from your link they are deciding whether to investigate.

Result of the Vote Leave Campaign Electoral Fraud investigation handed to the Crown Prosecution Service

From your link;
"It does not mean the CPS is considering criminal charges or that they will be brought in future."

To put the overspend in context:
Remain £19,309,588 + Government's £9m leaflet to every household.
Leave £13,332,569

Questions as to why Johnson won't allow publication of the 'Russian Interference' dossier

The usual turnaround time is 6 weeks - he's busy.

"ISC chair Dominic Grieve has said he cannot think of any reason why Mr Johnson should wish to hold back publication."

There you go, nothing to worry about.

KamikazeIdiot · 14/11/2019 12:35

I think we have quite enough corruption going on already without going anywhere near the Olympics (or World Cup) again.

ArseDarkly · 14/11/2019 12:42

There you go, nothing to worry about.

Sorry Boris, that's not going to wash. Grin
