Conservative Party Political Broadcast

Just seen, it Boris walking through an office and making a cup of tea while exchanging jolly convos with workers.

I have never ever seen such a pile of complete WANK in my life! And at 58, I've seen many political ads...

Honestly, do they think people are stupid or are they trying to throw the election?

People have had lots of opportunity to give Corbyn a kicking on recent threads, so why not Johnson?

Somehow they are convincing the world that the chaos of the last few years is not the Conservatives fault and they are doing a good job of convincingpeople sadly

The only thing the Tories have excelled at in the last decade or so.

Dh and I watched it in amazement thinking it had to be some sort of spoof.

We can now attack the man and not the ball, no bad tactics just bad targets etc etc.

Its all the Tories have ever done. They don't like it up 'em.

If the Tories had implemented any good polices they could run a campaign around that and lock Johnson in a cupboard for the next 4 weeks but they can't.

I am honestly just flabbergasted that anyone could believe this shit... not necessarily Tory-bashing, I'm sure if I put my mind to it I could come up with a case for them (if I had to).

I suppose it ticks all the boxes: man of the people. makes his own tea. cooked steak and oven chips. high fives the black guy. a bit bumbling. looks really scruffy (even Cameron managed to look tidyish in his polo shirts and beach shorts).

But this is a man who went to Eton, Cambridge, has had every privilege in life, has fucked up enormously in his private and his public life - WHY do people think he gives a shit about us plebs? I just don't get it.

But did he spill red wine on the sofa and get into a shouting match over the laptop for proper “man of the people” authenticity?

No, there is a reason why Labour and other political parties are in a current shit show, it isn't because Cameron followed the promise that Blair and Brown made as to have a referendum on our EU membership and try and broad brush it as a simple right v left issue.

To try and paint it as a simple conservative issue is just as dumb as those thinking all our ills are because of the EU, both thought processes have no real understanding of the situation and both can be categorised in the same intellect bracket. So well done.

nah continuity judging by his appearance and demeanour he did that the night before Rememberance Sunday...

Nobody I know ever watches a party political broadcast.
If the TV is on, we usually switch channels, or mute at the very least.
However, there are so many channels to watch from that I never see any political broadcasts and do not know anyone who does.

Because he’s implementing the referendum result that the “plebs” voted for, and his only challenger for the premiership is a weird socialist who cares more about Bolivia than Basingstoke?

Brexit belongs to the Tories. They called a referendum because UKIP were eating into their vote share. Subsequently lost the referendum and have been fighting amongst themselves for 3 years to the extent the Tories are hard right. Basically the things Cameron wanted to avoid he has inadvertently caused. Trying to pull Labour leaders from 10-20 years ago is utter desperation.

I beginning to wonder if he’s drunk much of the time. This is totally awful but it’s actually less cringe than the speech on NI where he rambled a load of incoherent drivel, the bus thing and his appearance on remembrance day.

That party political broadcast is probably the least upsetting thing about Boris.

Behind the racism, the compulsive lies, the conspiring to have people beaten up, the cheating, the complete inability not to be an embarrassment on the world stage, the childish petulance....way down the bottom of the list is leaving the tea bag in.

Why wouldn't you, it's supposed to be their 'voice' for what they want you to vote for?

Unfortunately I think he's played a blinder. He's relaxed, casual and approachable. In the context of the cosy chat the plea to get Brexit done seems eminently reasonable.
The whole thing is focused on reaching undecided middle aged (30-50) middle England and I reckon he's done it

100% agree with this

Re the PP Broadcast don't share it or even comment on it, the reason its so cringe/Alan Patridge is because incredulous Remainers and/or Labour supporters will do their publicity for them...

Not sure why people call BJ for being racist either - his second wife’s mother was Sikh.

You forgot a life long eurosceptic with a proven voting record is the current leader of the opposition.

There is a lot of people thinking they are on the side of the intellect and not see the 180 of political activists when it suits and following a different slant of propaganda.

Maybe it’s all the racist things he’s said? They probably hold more weight than the fact that a distant relation of his was Sikh. I mean why on Earth would that mean he couldn’t be racist? Boris is partly Turkish yet he played up the ‘great threat’ of Turkey joining EU in the ref campaign.
