Just seen, it Boris walking through an office and making a cup of tea while exchanging jolly convos with workers.

I have never ever seen such a pile of complete WANK in my life! And at 58, I've seen many political ads...

Honestly, do they think people are stupid or are they trying to throw the election?

I think he is great! Boris for PM!

RoomR0613 · 12/11/2019 19:48

I'm surprised his beverage monitor didn't come and swipe the teabag out with her bare hand.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 12/11/2019 19:52

I have actually watched it now - thanks for the link Mummadeeze.

A very long 4:40 minutes. A mixture of a bad spoof, crude box-ticking, can't-be-bothered, that-will-do and a few very very simple slogans to rehash previous campaigns. Honestly my five year old is capable of more sophisticated thinking. It was cringey and embarrassing. I can't see how it could appeal to any fence sitters. Surely this is only for fans, for true believers? Confused

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 12/11/2019 19:52

I would like to thank mumma for providing the link

But I can’t Sad

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 12/11/2019 19:53

A very long 4:40 minutes

It felt much longer

HopefullyAnonymous · 12/11/2019 19:55

I was cringing the whole way through. It’s dire.

Itstheprinciple · 12/11/2019 19:55

I cringed and laughed and cringed again. It was like a spoof. I was waiting for Don Jolly to jump out dressed as a giant squirral or something equally random.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 12/11/2019 19:56

I didnt laugh once...didnt even smirk

Was it supposed to get me to vote conservative

Id rather they actually TOLD me something

I may hate this more that PArty political broadcasts that just slag off the opposition

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/11/2019 19:58

They've nothing positive to say about the last 9 years. Can't defend their appalling record. All they have is Johnson's hot air.

ContinuityError · 12/11/2019 20:02

I didn’t get past the “how do you start your day Boris?” “Well I take the dog out for a shit”.

That’s 30 seconds of my life I won’t get back Sad

ginginchinchin · 12/11/2019 20:02

None of them are convincing. However at least the conservatives aren't openly saying transwomen are women, and for that reason only they will get my vote.

JimmyGrimble · 12/11/2019 20:06

Yeah. Cos they really look after women...

Palegreenstars · 12/11/2019 20:08

I’m not going to be persuaded by it but I’m not on the fence. I think it’s hit the right note for those that could be convinced. Reaching the undecided voter strategy generally seems to involve tea.

Mummyshark2018 · 12/11/2019 20:12

It's like a comedy sketch.

yolofish · 12/11/2019 20:14

but there was nothing in it to convince an undecided voter was there?

apart from "I'm a nice chap, man of the people, make my own tea (learnt that at Eton), all the failures are everyone else's fault".

no substance at all (like the man himself) and a dire, cringey attempt to capture the yoof.

OP posts:
HiHoToffee · 12/11/2019 20:14

I am sure it appeals to those who think he is a harmless lovable fool
I switched over after about 4 seconds.

Charmlight · 12/11/2019 20:19

When it started, I was expecting to cringe, but it never came 😀
The thing Boz has in his favour is that he’s cheerful and upbeat and has impeccable manners. I find it a refreshing change from the usual po-facedness.
Wouldn’t want to be married to him mind😄😄

noblegiraffe · 12/11/2019 20:30

His arms. Windmilling all over the place. Mistake to then hold a cup of tea because I was just then fascinated to see him chuck it all over himself in an over-inflated gesture of fake enthusiasm.

I remember George Osborne being slated for having a Byron Burger delivered to Downing Street. Suspect the real reason Boris can’t get a Thai curry is because they don’t deliver to racists.

midnightmisssuki · 12/11/2019 20:32

I’m confused - what exactly is your Aibu about or is this just another conservative bashing thread???

minou123 · 12/11/2019 20:39

Did anyone notice the very obviously placed manifesto claims on the walls?

Yes, yes I did. That's all he could say "20,000 police officers" and "even ready deal".
Load if bollocks.

Why should I give a shiny shite that he cooked a pie and oven chips for his tea last night?

Bet you pound to a penny get didnt know the name of the guy who walked passed.

Palegreenstars · 12/11/2019 20:41

@yolofish that’s exactly what will convince people. Also using the same tactic as time before last. Chaos without a majority of some sort. Threats of socialism and Marxism. Lots of people want it to be over either way. Somehow they are convincing the world that the chaos of the last few years is not the Conservatives fault and they are doing a good job of convincing people sadly.

If you aren’t inclined to vote Tory this won’t change your mind but the subtle threats of chaos with all other options is the key take away that undecideds will remember.

If something’s oven-ready, you don’t put it in the microwave, it would turn out shit.

Justanotherlurker · 12/11/2019 20:51

Is this the latest thread where we jump into the labour amplify social media policy, it's following the script that has been handed down by momentum hq.

We can now attack the man and not the ball, no bad tactics just bad targets etc etc.

MN always become comical in the run up to an election, I give it 2 weeks before there are crys of Tory bots infiltrating MN without any sense of irony.
