Inspired by the excellent thread on songs.

Mine is Titanic. Billy Zane is marrying Rose knowing he is used as a money mule to help the family - she then cheats on him, flaunts it, and he is somehow the bad guy. WTAF. If roles were reversed it was be horrendous. Just because Leo was hot doesn’t make it ok 😁

I'm glad I'm not the only one to find About Time creepy rather than heartwarming. Ugh.
Mother! was supposed to be an allegory of the Bible. I thought it would be a good creepy horror but it was just weird. If you're remotely sensitive to any violence involving children DO NOT watch it. That bit has stayed with me and I usually love a good horror.

The80sweregreat · 09/11/2019 10:39

Monty python films are a mystery to me as well. My peers adored ' life of Brian' and can quote lines from it even now but it left me cold. Not funny or clever at all but I know I'm in the minority. I don't get that kind of humour.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/11/2019 10:43

The80sweregreat

I also hate Monty Python. Don’t get it at all.

Thefemalekeithrichards · 09/11/2019 10:49

@EoinMcLovesCakeJumper

That article is brilliant ‘shit actually’ 😂😂

Thank you

sweetiepy · 09/11/2019 11:26

Another for Mama Mia, Pierce ’s singing has made me completely hate ABBA!

FadingStar · 09/11/2019 11:33

Ugh always hated Monty Python.

Another animated movie I loathe is Mr Peabody and Sherman. The misogyny is unbelievable. I felt really angry watching it with my little daughters...I can only imagine how much the producers must hate women to infect a child's cartoon with it. They finish a movie with a 'laugh' about a woman being kidnapped by a gang of marauding men.

Corneliawildthing · 09/11/2019 11:59

Mama Mia was cringeworthily awful. I can't believe some people gave it a standing ovation in cinemas and that work colleagues went to see it several times Hmm

GabsAlot · 09/11/2019 12:00

Fading i definitely give it a wide birth

i still cant believe michael caine won an oscar over michael clarke duncan for the green mile-its been 20 years but im still seething

ThatMuppetShow · 09/11/2019 14:26

I really like Mama Mia
Sometimes you just want to watch something easy and very light-hearted 🤷

If you hate Abba to start, it's never going to be a hit Grin

CoolCarrie · 09/11/2019 14:42

Chris Pratt is a creep in real life too , dumping animals bastard !

Newbie1999 · 09/11/2019 15:41

Watched a film recently called ‘It Comes At Night’. Literally nothing came.

Mrsjayy · 09/11/2019 16:00

I also love Mamma mia however Cher in Mm2 is the best thing I have seen in my life it was camptastic Grin

Pinkbonbon · 09/11/2019 16:01

newbie1999 I was gonna watch that I think, is it on Netflix? I'll give it a miss xD

FizzyGreenWater · 09/11/2019 16:09

Terminator 2, it's excellent of course BUT...

how stupid is it to go STRAIGHT to the big lab where they have the chip right in the middle of the night with Nerd Blokey still looking shell shocked with his shot arm in a sling, so the security guard obviously thinks WTF so they have to ambush him, so, alarm raised, merry hell, Nerd Blokey dies etc.

What ANY person with half a brain (or Terminator with half a brain for that matter) would do is everyone get away from the house, hole up overnight and get Nerd Blokey looking half normal THEN he goes to the lab at the start of his working day with instructions on how to destroy the chip and whatever else needs destroying, maybe with one of the others with him disguised as a fellow IT person from another lab or something. Everything is destroyed safely, no drama.

Bug bug bugs me every time!

MitziK · 09/11/2019 17:07

Fucking Warhorse.

The boys like my grandfather were the ones who looked after the horses.

And the actual warhorse was slaughtered.

And my bastard DP, knowing I never wanted to watch it, switched it on without warning me and I still, despite all that, bawled my fucking eyes out.

SlightlyWizened · 09/11/2019 19:07

The Favourite- I do not understand it's popularity. Boring, not even lovely costumes to look at, boring, too long and just boring.
A film about car crashes and people finding them a sexual turn on, was it Crash? I don't think I really need to explain why I hated it.
Mama Mia was another inexplicable hit although I have warmed to it a bit with repetition.
Mama Mia 2- dire drivel. Lack of story, Donna was dead???? Cher was there for why? Sophie gave up a career and travel.

SlightlyWizened · 09/11/2019 19:10

The English Patient- The love affair between Kristen Scott Thomas and Ralph Fiennes was so boring and horrible that I didn't care about either of them.

Grinchly · 09/11/2019 19:28

Harry Potter. Utter shit, just like the books!

Grinchly · 09/11/2019 19:31

Oh yes English Patient too. And Black Swan. Execrable.

TheSandman · 09/11/2019 20:33

A film about car crashes and people finding them a sexual turn on, was it Crash? I don't think I really need to explain why I hated it.

... erm I quite... I'm not sure 'liked' is quite the right word... let's say I'm glad I watched Crash. Not sure I want to watch it again soon but then I feel like that about most of Cronenburg's films.

GabsAlot · 09/11/2019 21:56

Thats the thing i love abba so i hate people murdering their songs ive seen mamma mia but i cringe through most of it

i dont get how cher is meant to be donnas mother theyre roughly the same age

alltoomuchrightnow · 09/11/2019 23:03

Revolutionary Road

Destinysdaughter · 09/11/2019 23:14

All the American Xmas movies currently being shown on C5. They are such propaganda and all seem to follow the same basic plot. Single, child bearing age single woman who has a successful career in the city has to spend time in some twee, picture postcard perfect town in Hicksville. Meets the man of her dreams and realises the importance of being some kind of surrendered life, gives up her city career and lives happily ever after! Load of bollocks!

Destinysdaughter · 09/11/2019 23:15

*surrendered wife, not life. Good Freudian slip tho!

TildaKauskumholm · 09/11/2019 23:20

Pretty Woman. Dreadful message to give to young women - hey, can't be arsed/too thick to get a proper job? Just become a prostitute and you'll have a great time, and end up with a handsome millionaire!
