Films that give you the rage!

Inspired by the excellent thread on songs.

Mine is Titanic. Billy Zane is marrying Rose knowing he is used as a money mule to help the family - she then cheats on him, flaunts it, and he is somehow the bad guy. WTAF. If roles were reversed it was be horrendous. Just because Leo was hot doesn’t make it ok 😁

Three identical strangers! - I cant quite believe an experiment like it is still under wraps in this day and age.

OkOkWhatsNext · 06/11/2019 22:41

I do actually quite love Four Weddings, but “Is it still raining, I hadn’t noticed” absolutely gives me the rage and Hugh Grant should definitely have ended up with Kristin Scott Thomas, not annoying Andie MacDowell.

Stacerini · 06/11/2019 22:42

The Holiday. It’s shite.

Mama Mia 2. There was absolutely no need to kill off Donna. Shite sequel.

TheSandman · 06/11/2019 22:46

Inception. Truly awful, no idea what was going on

Really? But they cast kept explaining it to each other (especially to Ellen Page's character) what was happening all the way through. Like most of Nolan's films it's nowhere as complicated as it first appears.

midnightmisssuki · 06/11/2019 22:52

The human centipede. I don’t even know where to begin on that one 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

VanyaHargreeves · 06/11/2019 22:53

I saw Superbad with MY MUM who had seen a tame trailer on a previous visit and thought it looked fun.

Most excruciating 2 hours of my life

Blueberrydreams · 06/11/2019 22:55

Agree with the devil wears Prada.

The friends taking the piss when andi has just given them loads of expensive gear which they were more then happy to take off her
The boyfriend who could not wait for a year for andi to make her mark and gets upset because she is at an important work event on his birthday- grow up twat

CockleburIck · 06/11/2019 22:55

Wow, I’m pleasantly surprised by all the Richard Curtis hate on here. My first thought on seeing the title of this thread were his godawful films. I can’t decide which is the worst, but I did, genuinely, have to leave the room at “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy...” as I had almost cringed myself inside out.
Agree with PPs that Hugh Grant can indeed do much better than the shallow “bumbling guy who meets sassy woman” characters he played in RC films.

And yes, “Silence” as a PP mentioned. I have never been able to sleep if not horizontal, in a comfy bed and with darkness and silence, but I fell asleep watching this film. Three hours of nothing.

VanyaHargreeves · 06/11/2019 22:58

Hugh Grant's later career is really interesting and shows he can act

But has anyone seen the trailer for the new Guy Richie film when he goes FULL OUT DANNY DYER

Horrifying. Untold levels of cringe.

AwkwardFucker · 06/11/2019 22:59

The parent trap. 11yo me loved it and watched it over and over again. Adult me is so pissed that they kept the twins away from their other loving parent and each other just because their marriage didn’t work out. Hmm

Somanymistakes · 06/11/2019 23:00

@Livpool watch Magnolia. I agree with you about Tom Cruise but the character he plays in this movie is a huge departure from the usual. A woman hating MRA motivational speaker. He is very good, if unpleasant as hell in it. It is a fantastic movie. But very bleak.

I always wondered how close the character came to his personality!

Tillygetsit · 06/11/2019 23:00

Dumb and Dumber. So bloody annoying.

Somanymistakes · 06/11/2019 23:04

I hated American Beauty at the time. Hate it more now.

I watched it with a bf who thought it was great. I said Kevin Spacey character was a pathetic twat. He eye rolled because, you know, women.

He mentioned it to a male friend in front of me, who also said the film was amazing. They were both in their 40s by the way, I was in my late 20s. They both eye rolled and were all "she doesn't understand what men are really like....all men would behave like that...blah blah blah"

pinacoladalover · 06/11/2019 23:09

Devil wears Prada. Hated the stupid s.**t and felt so sorry for the guy throughout the whole movie.

pinkoneblueone · 06/11/2019 23:12

Wolf of Wall Street was literally a massive porno, I forced my self to watch an hour 1/2 to 2hrs but it was so awful I turned it off in the end.

ActualHornist · 06/11/2019 23:14

The Grey.

It’s a Liam Neeson film about a plane crash and then some wolves who stalk and kill all the people.

It is so. Awful. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m no wolf behaviour expert, but animals in general aren’t known for taunting human beings in a large group.

The Boat that Rocked. Absolutely horrible depictions of teenage groupies and aging rockers. Gross.

Wounds. Most recently, watched on Netflix. Just appalling. No storyline, seems to be trying to be really clever....but isn’t.

Fast and Furious - almost all of them make me furious! Soooo bad.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 06/11/2019 23:15

The Holiday. Unutterably shit from start to finish.

The Greatest Showman. Fucking unacceptable this movie is so beloved, as far as I’m concerned.

He wasn’t a good bloke! We wasn’t some whimsical circus owner, he fucking enslaved people with disfigurements to make money from them.

RaininSummer · 06/11/2019 23:22

Million dollar baby was the most boring film in the world. Even gorgeous Mr Eastwood couldn't save it. Space oddysey is also high on the list as well as Forest Gump.

TheSandman · 06/11/2019 23:26

who on earth would let a random stranger into the house in the middle of the night then ask them for sex???

The key is under the doormat...

Snakes on a plane Angry

Spermysextowel · 06/11/2019 23:40

Finding Your Feet. My mother wanted to see it (despite her dislike of Joanna Lumley) so I took a half-day’s leave to go with her. Ms Lumley had a much smaller role than the trailers indicated, so plus point for my mother there, but I just loathed all the characters, the plot, everything. So much so that my infuriation stopped me falling asleep, which is usually pretty much guaranteed in a cinema whatever the film.

Also find anything with Simon Pegg in it very hard to watch.

dayslikethese1 · 06/11/2019 23:41

Fatal Attraction is really misogynistic and Michael Douglas annoys me so much in it.
