MIL, SIL, neighbour, dog leads, parking . . .

Sparklingbrook · 06/11/2019 12:30

Threads where the title is just a famous person's name. I always assume they have died.

TheFairyCaravan · 06/11/2019 12:33

Aibu to think most women want girls.

Gender disappointment threads

Anything to do with the military or the poppy

Line eyes

Competitive spending or non spending at Christmas

"I need to talk about DH's hobby - can't say what it is, too outing."

Mate, it's cycling or dogging. One or a combination of the two.

x2boys · 06/11/2019 12:36

A combination of Cycling and dogging the mind boggles😂

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 06/11/2019 12:43

“AIBU to not be offered a seat on the bus?”

“AIBU to be told this is part of my job?”

“AIBU for SIL to think this is her business?”

None of those titles make sense! Hmm how could you be unreasonable to be told something/not offered something by someone else?

darkcloudsandrainstorms · 06/11/2019 12:44

Brexit.

MrsHardbroom · 06/11/2019 12:46

Can you see a line???

MissBattleaxe · 06/11/2019 12:59

It really annoys me when people just use AIBU as the title of their thread with no other details.

Puppytooth · 06/11/2019 13:01

“So - hubby and I are having a debate...” (followed by a hilarious post about who pronounces “smug” correctly).

Userzzzzz · 06/11/2019 13:20

I find a lot of the money ones infuriating especially the ‘Why am I so poor on £200k’ ones.

VanyaHargreeves · 06/11/2019 13:39

Blatant Wealth Bragging disguised as something else, two in the last week.

Along with competitive undereating

Competitive Frugality, of the "you spend HOW MUCH?! I buy all my children's for no more than thruppence second hand and I rummage for food in bins"

Versus Competitive Spendy Smugsters of the HOW CAN ANYONE POSSIBLY BE LIVING THEIR BEST LIFE IF THEY CAN'T AFFORD WAITROSE variety.

firstimemamma · 06/11/2019 14:00

"Am I pregnant?"
"I had cosmetic surgery AMA"
"AIBU to take antibiotics for this cold?"
Anything transphobic.
Anything that could easily be googled to find the answer.
Anything that should be shared directly with a medical professional.

x2boys · 06/11/2019 14:46

The Father Xmas/ Santa one,s they always go one of two ways ,posters can't believe that children over the age of five believe in Santa or posters worrying how to tell their 12 year old Santa isn't real, or the we don't believe in lying to our children so have never done Santa .

pantsville · 06/11/2019 14:59

Marks and Spencer moaning threads.

At this point I’m convinced half of them are posted by Marks and Spencer themselves, doing a bit of advertising.

I’ve never seen people get so wound up over a clothes shop in all my life. They demand NATURAL FIBRES and SLEEVES with such anguish and raw passion I almost begin trembling with emotion just reading them. I picture these women on their knees on the ground, gulping back huge sobs as they scream “I am your TARGET CUSTOMER and I WANT to shop there but even my 115 year old NAN thinks your clothes are too old fashioned”

pantsville · 06/11/2019 15:07

You just know MIL is going to be unreasonable, controlling, right wing and has no right to see DGC.

Also a narcissist, don’t forget that one. Then when the poor DH is finally forced convinced to ring her saying everyone hates her and to never contact them again, she will attempt to “emotionally abuse” him by crying.

CruCru · 06/11/2019 15:27

Any thread where someone says I am a UK size X and I weigh Y stone. No matter what they put, you'll get someone saying "Gosh, a UK size 12 is huge / ten stones is really heavy - you must be so uncomfortable!"

The thread usually carries on with people saying that if you wear Y, there is no way you can be a X size or if you are it is only because you shop in places that vanity size.

AdaColeman · 06/11/2019 15:31

The sudden rash of threads complaining about Facebook, what its rules are, what's wrong with it, who said what about whom, who doesn't like who. This is Mumsnet, we're not an offshoot of Facebook. Take your complaints to Facebook!

All the MIL threads, for heaven's sake give the poor old dears a break.

The threads which have an opening post the length of six sides of A4 (usually without paragraphs} and feature characters "let's call them A B & E" and are about should A say sorry to E for borrowing B's green cardigan.

All the Christmas threads that aren't posted in the dedicated CHRISTMAS TOPIC!

"Can my guinea pig use the disabled toilet?"

Dinosforall · 06/11/2019 15:50

"My leg is hanging off, is it ok to impose on the NHS?"

LolaSmiles · 06/11/2019 16:03

Should I go to A and E (usually with the OP deliberating on MN for hours suggesting it's clearly not A&E)

Am I pregnant? Line eyes.

Disabled toilets threads / can I use one

Bus wars: wheelchairs Vs buggies

Any thread where a minor irritation in a partner is clearly abusive / controlling

Can we afford to start a family? It feels so irresponsible when we only earn £80,000 between us.

To be furious at school / complain about the teacher (guaranteed to be a rallying call for furious cheerleading with zero interest in actual advice to get a resolution or hold schools to account)

Teachers think their lives are terrible / teacher holidays / why I'm annoyed about teacher contracts that I know nothing about

Why the dog is evil for barking at my toddler who couldn't possibly help running up to a dog, grabbing its face and yelling.

ClaudiaNaughton · 06/11/2019 16:10

I’m so dissapointed blah blah. Your spelling disappoints me.
