Carbs before Marbs

@misspiggy19

Nothing wrong with a meal including sausages and beans but to cook the sausages in tinned baked beans and call it a casserole because you put some coriander in it just makes me feel sick. I feel like it reinforces why other countries think British food is crap.

morningdread · 02/11/2019 09:30

It probably could work particularly if Karen paid the monthly subscription for free delivery (I forgot about this) you could order the Wagamama which takes 40 mins, then the 5 guys which is 30 mins etc.

EasyLifer · 02/11/2019 09:34

YANBU, just when annoying Oral B toothpaste woman seems to have left the building up has popped annoying Deliveroo woman. And yes, who would let their unrealistically large household order from so many different places?

AllStarBySmashMouth · 02/11/2019 10:38

Poor Natalie. It's not her fault the advert is infuriating though.

I felt the same about the Chicken Madras girl. Her song was torture. Not her fault though. Gotta take the work where you can get it!

PhilCornwall1 · 02/11/2019 11:26

If you think about it though, the adverts working in a way. We are all talking about it, so we'll never forget "Deliverooooooooo" Smile

Weird how things work, isn't it?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 02/11/2019 11:49

Yes, but we’re all talking about how misleading the advert is, which has highlighted to other people who weren’t aware that all those deliveries would incur separate charges. Is that really what Deliveroo’s ad team hoped to achieve?

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 02/11/2019 11:52

Every time she says “No Carbs before Marbs” I just cringe, don’t know why but I can’t stand it.

HowlinProwlin · 02/11/2019 11:57

None of it is as cringerama as the guide dogs ad with the little girl...

"I'VE GOT THE BORL DAD... I'M GUNNA SHOOT...'

FUCK OFF, JUST FUCK THE FUCK OFF...

ssd · 02/11/2019 12:21

Aaawww, I like that ad, the wee girl describing the game to her dad who's blind.

Don't like the new Nationwide one either . "Audience" overly laughing at jokes not funny to begin with . I would rather the singing sisters back, and didn't like them ads either.

ChilledBee · 02/11/2019 12:37

@ssd

I cant help thinking that she would have scored if she wasnt shouting about it.

PhilCornwall1 · 02/11/2019 12:42

Who knows, to be honest, I'm not worried about if it's misleading (most adverts are if you dig deep enough), I'd never use them and we do have them down here.

Candlebarbara · 02/11/2019 12:48

The BT ad with the girl wandering about muttering some shite about best of times, worst of times, epochs of incredulity... what the fuck is that all about..

Also hate the guide dog ads. The bloke with the great imagination, who never imagined he would go blind.. well, no I doubt you would have. I hate the ads, but felt guilty about it so donated money. I now have no guilt when I yell at the tv when they come on.

ginandbearit · 02/11/2019 12:49

LBC radio ads for Barclays business ap with some embittered northern bloke muttering about "things are going to change"..no they wont they'll still wring every penny out of you, especially after having to pay LBC to run their ad every thirty seconds ...and breathe ..

PhilCornwall1 · 02/11/2019 12:56

Any charity advert that's trying to guilt you into donating. Of course I'll give you three quid a month to go towards over inflated salaries and paying for adverts!!

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 02/11/2019 13:28

The advert that grinds my gears is the Arlo milk one
"it's not milk"...over and over again then at the end
"Arlo filtered milk"...
it fucking is milk ...
The ad is as shitty as the product.

Flouncysinatra · 02/11/2019 13:30

I sort of work in advertising and the Just Eat one pisses me off- the tune is not catchy and hard to mimic. dh may have had enough of my complaining about this every time it comes on

Armi · 02/11/2019 13:42

@Candlebarbara
BT ad is quoting from ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ by Dickens. The link to BT makes no fucking sense to me, but the quote itself is quite fitting, given the state of things in this country at the moment.

FlamingoAndJohn · 02/11/2019 13:47

I’ve missed this all as I never watch live tv.
I might have to start again just to join in.

BritishHorrorStory · 02/11/2019 14:32

I’m with you chilledbee, that casserole makes me feel sick too.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 02/11/2019 14:43

Have you seen that one for specialist travel insurance with the late-middle aged couple? They’re flicking through holiday brochures and he says ‘Asia looks good!’ Yeah, the entire continent looks great! From that one brochure! I keep imagining them booking flights to Asia Airport and rooms at the Asia Hotel, 15 Asia Road, Asia.

rainingallday · 02/11/2019 14:50

@WhentheRabbitsWentWild

I also hate the Nationwide ones with a passion. I also liked the singing sisters, (Flo and Joan,) but all the others on the ad really piss me off. The poetry readers, the 'comedians' the lot!

Would you believe Flo and Joan got SO much hate (on social media/Twitter etc, that they left the ad campaign.. Very sad. Sad

@ssd

YANBU at ALL. The Deliveroo ad is bloody awful. The woman in question is sooooooo annoying! Also, I doubt if the company would be too keen on having to go to 6 or 7 different places to pick up the food from the different orders, and as a few people have said, surely you'd have delivery charges on each order???

Also, I am pretty sure that the first 2 or 3 picked up would be a bit cold, by the time they got to the recipient.

Daft.

And I agree with @PumpkinP that the DID SOMEBODY SAY JUST EAT?!' ad is also very annoying. Ya know what? NO, NOBODY said Just Fucking EAT!!! Angry
