Adele's Weight loss

I already know I am being unreasonable, but wonder if any else feels the same or understands my point!

I'm a massive Adele fan, have loved her and her work forever, she's all over the news and social media because of her (apparently 3 stone loss) and I agree she looks fab and happy and I know that's what's important, but part of me feels like she's sort of lost the 'edge' she had. She never seemed to want to conform to society's/music industries need for women to be slim, or lose weight and I thought she kind of had a middle finger up to all that...

Silly really, but just wondered if anyone else knows what I mean..?!?

I think her weight is none of our business.

VanyaHargreeves · 01/11/2019 20:43

Being Hmm at someone making healthy and positive decisions is a bit odd

Span1elsRock · 01/11/2019 20:45

I think she's a very typical woman just out of a long term relationship. Out drinking and partying, losing weight and doing anything other than being home alone without her child there.

I feel sad for her because I bet she's anything but happy right now.

Alsohuman · 01/11/2019 20:46

I think what she weighs is a matter between her and the scales. It’s nothing to do with anyone else.

BatEaredFox · 01/11/2019 20:48

What an awful thread to start.

She has lost her husband, been exercising, eating well or not, who knows. She is doing the best she can I think.

NonUrinatInVentum · 01/11/2019 20:52

If you're fat - judgement
If you lose the fat - judgement

Can't win really can we? Women shouldn't pick other women apart. Ffs.

SafetyAdvice0FeedWhenAgitated · 01/11/2019 20:52

From what I understand she started changing her lifestyle when her DC was born.
Why wouldn't someone want to be healthy for their child?Confused

AliceLittle · 01/11/2019 20:53

Are you one of those people who hates it when the fat friend gets thin and she's no longer the "the fat one" anymore?

Can't you just be happy for her?

WaterOffADucksCrack · 01/11/2019 20:55

She never seemed to want to conform to society's/music industries need for women to be slim, or lose weight and I thought she kind of had a middle finger up to all that... Losing weight doesn't mean "conforming to societies need for women to be slim". She probably just wants to be healthier! I know many overweight people who would say they were happy with how they looked etc until they lost weight! Then they would look back and say they were just convincing themselves. Some people are happy being overweight but in my experience they're in the minority.

Also being fat wasn't it her having an edge. It was just being fat!

IfWishesWereFishes · 01/11/2019 20:55

Being fat was her 'edge'? Confused

Icecreamsoda99 · 01/11/2019 20:56

You are being unreasonable and by our warped media standards she is still "big" so she is hardly conforming. Her "edge" is her amazing voice and song writing skills!

SafetyAdvice0FeedWhenAgitated · 01/11/2019 20:57

Yup! I remember being slim and being able to walk up 2 flights of stairs without looking for defibrillator 😳

NameChange84 · 01/11/2019 21:00

I think its up to her what she does with her body.

I'm not a fan of glorifying obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle though.

Maybe she is doing it for her health and so she can up the odds of having a long life with her son?

PurpleDaisies · 01/11/2019 21:01
Hmm
TheQueef · 01/11/2019 21:03

YABU and a bit cuntish.

WeWantSweet · 01/11/2019 21:03

I hear you OP. You're happy for her but mourn the loss of a talented trail blazer who also happened to be a size 14+??

MeClavdivs · 01/11/2019 21:05

Her "edge" is her amazing voice and song writing skills! This FFS! We'd never have heard of her otherwise.

soconfusing · 01/11/2019 21:06

I didn't make my point very well. I'm not annoyed at her.

Maybe what I'm annoyed about is all the coverage of it I guess, she isn't courting it at all, like you've all said she's just living her life.

OP posts:
rookiemere · 01/11/2019 21:06

I think she looks amazing and she's still not super thin. I'm looking forward to seeing what styles she's wearing now for a bit of inspiration.

HauntedmessFrogbeaver · 01/11/2019 21:06

None of our business

SafetyAdvice0FeedWhenAgitated · 01/11/2019 21:08

All the coverage where? I saw 1 article in newspapers I read?

Its upto her what she does slimming wise, she definitely can do better than her first husband though.
The problem Adele has isn't her weight, its meeting someone who is genuinely interested in her not in her millions.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 01/11/2019 21:11

She’s lost her “edge” because she’s not fat? Confused

She’s edgy as that’s part of her persona irregardless of her BMI
