Ideas for Christmas, if they manage to re-stock.

Slippers with Trump's contradictory tweets.

All I want for Christmas is.... Impeachment

TheClaws · 16/12/2019 23:11

All hail the Great One for bring back Christmas!

Jason Campbell @JasonSCampbell

Jeanine Pirro: "[Trump family has] done wonderful things for this country. We now don't have the political correctness we used to. People are actually saying 'Merry Christmas'"

Now, view the above tweet with the below tweet - sent two days ago - and things begin to make sense. Horrifying sense, but sense all the same.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 2days

25 Million Evangelical Christians are not registered to vote. We are working hard to get them registered! @robertjeffress @LouDobbs

www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/12/16/business/trump-midwest-swing-jobs.html?smid=nytcore-ios-

'The American economy has found its footing after a summer recession scare. But much of the Midwest is still stumbling.

President Trump campaigned in 2016 on a pledge to restore jobs — manufacturing jobs, specifically — to long-struggling Midwestern communities, and he has made the economy a centerpiece of his re-election campaign.'

An old story that keeps repeating (I have not yet had time to read the papers on this):

This is becoming like a weird political slapstick.

That Giuliani admission!Shock

In an interview with The New Yorker, Giuliani admitted that he got former American ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch fired so that he could more easily pursue his efforts to dig up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden.

“I believed that I needed Yovanovitch out of the way,” he said. “She was going to make the investigations difficult for everybody.”

PerkingFaintly · 17/12/2019 08:51

All the President's Men had it right first time round:

"Forget the myths the media created about the White House. The truth is, these aren't very bright guys, and things got out of hand."

TheClaws · 17/12/2019 10:07

Giuliani! How long until he is fired? And until POTUS “barely knew the guy”?

Lweji · 17/12/2019 11:18

Giuliani won't be fired. Trump believes he can shoot people and get away with it and he probably will.
I'm beginning to think Giuliani does in on purpose as an exercise to keep heating the pot till boiling point.

YouretheChristmasCarcass · 17/12/2019 14:03

Lweji, I'm beginning to wonder if Scrotus and Rudy are setting things up for Rudy to be the 'fall guy'. Why Rudy would agree to it I have no idea unless a shit tonne of money would change hands. I mean, I think Rudy knows he's 'dead in the water' as far as any future political aspirations, so he may be willing to take a dive. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We're going to a big Impeachment Rally tonight at the State Capitol. There's supposed to be a huge crowd. Rallies are good, but IMO the impeachment is a 'sure thing' even if it's party line.

What we're going to need are huge and numerous 'Remove from Office' rallies to try and get Senators to 'do the right thing'.

Lweji · 17/12/2019 14:15

Oh, yes.

I'll be very surprised if it gets through the Senate, though.

lionheart · 17/12/2019 16:38

Good for you---I hope the streets where all the rallies are to be held are full of patriots.

YouretheChristmasCarcass · 17/12/2019 17:23

lion we do too!

Lweji I agree. But 'hope springs eternal'.

lionheart · 17/12/2019 19:33

For sure Flowers.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-letter-pelosi-read-impeachment-vote-democrats-a9250821.html

'With just hours to go until the House of Representatives votes on articles of impeachment against him, Donald Trump lashed out on Tuesday afternoon against Democrats in a rambling, grievance-laden letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“I write to express my strongest and most powerful protest against the partisan impeachment crusade being pursued by the Democrats in the House of Representatives,” Mr Trump wrote. “This impeachment represents an unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power by Democrat Lawmakers, unequaled in nearly two and a half centuries of American legislative history.”'

Lweji · 17/12/2019 20:21

George Conway steps up (or down) his undermining:

...has teamed up with a group of conservatives to launch a super PAC dedicated to blocking Trump's reelection.

Bless him

I’ve never posted on a trump thread before - I feel as though I should knock first Smile

But someone has had the great idea to start a series of threads like this but for Boris... and I was curious Smile

lionheart · 17/12/2019 22:57

Hello ethelfleda.

ethelfleda · 17/12/2019 23:00

Hello lionheart

TheClaws · 17/12/2019 23:13

It’s actually very constitutional, and if anyone should know it, it’s the White House - but obviously, they’re on another team right now.

The White House @WhiteHouse 7min

This impeachment represents an unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power that is unequaled in our Nation's legislative history.
