Despite Scrotus' claims hat it was the 'top choice', the Doral wasn't even on the list of contenders to host the G7. Until, of course, Scrotus ordered them to put it on the list.

White House budget official expected to break ranks and testify
www.cbsnews.com/news/mark-sandy-white-house-budget-official-testify-closed-hearing-2019-11-16/

Longtime White House budget employee Mark Sandy was expected to appear in a closed hearing on Saturday before the House committees conducting the impeachment inquiry, making him the first official from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to testify in the inquiry.

Sandy's testimony could fill in gaps about the withholding of military aid to Ukraine for several months, a process in which the OMB played a critical role. Unlike several other OMB officials who have refused to appear before the committee, he was not appointed by President Trump.

Sorry. About his base.

cozietoesie · 16/11/2019 20:37

And here is that Cruella.

AcrossthePond55 · 16/11/2019 20:44

Mark Sandy arrived at the Capitol around 11am EST. To my knowledge, he's still there and testifying, almost 5 hours later .

Oh, to be a fly on that wall!

5 hours??

Holding Trump to account requires some stamina.

cozietoesie · 16/11/2019 23:04

I'll say.....

AcrossthePond55 · 17/11/2019 01:50

I'd be willing to bet a dollar to a donut that this visit to Walter Reed has nothing to do with his 'annual physical'. Considering the impeachment hearings, Stone's guilty verdict, his losing court cases, and more witnesses coming out of the woodwork to talk about the overheard phone call I'd be willing to bet that it was either chest pains, stomach issues, or something else related to stress that sent him to the hospital.

All his life he's been 'bulletproof', surrounded by willing fall-guys and yes-men. Now the chickens appear to be coming home to roost. I have a feeling that he's feeling stress like he's never known before in his whole life.

Not on schedule and the last exam was in February.

Maybe he's looking for the exit.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 17/11/2019 08:06

Exit pursued by Putin a bear

Not sure what the rules are about sharing things from other threads, but this was over on the Brexit thread

www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/what-us-business-wants-from-a-us-uk-trade-deal_uk_5dc97dc9e4b00927b2370fa9?guce_referrer=aHR0cDovL20uZmFjZWJvb2suY29t&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAJpZFpbQrzBbIhgray5Wy0td9WIqOILwz2-pkeK6gcwnYvPfGJSMrRn3l4ya4eQZLQsdTrwgP2dnoZeVIJlg2zxupvgMmGlHGBMx_s1kA5nimgZyoj4paOTuAEfELT0z-JN00MSmVqrYSQ0laNqQ-Jr-WIl4hX85ljW_oCFyFcRy

And as I scrolled down my eye was caught by the picture captioned "Prime Minister Boris Johnson shakes hands with US president Donald Trump"

That isn't someone shaking hands: Trump has got hold of Johnson's hand and is squeezing it, and Johnson looks as if he's in pain. It's the weirdest Trump handshake yet.

Auberjean · 17/11/2019 10:39

The Independent says that there have been 6 meetings between the government and the Americans about the NHS. Why?

The minutes are almost completely redacted, including the attendees. Also, medicine in the US is 2 and a half times the price it is in the UK.

PerkingFaintly · 17/11/2019 10:49

Among so many weird Trump handshakes.

(And I'm so glad I caught my typo in the above – r/n – before pressing post... Ick!)

AcrossthePond55 · 17/11/2019 13:38

Auberjean my understanding is that US for profit health companies want a foot in the door in the NHS. The talks are about contracting out NHS services to these companies.

They've been waiting for an opening for years.

I'm certain they do, despite the denials.
