Curious about the replies given the latest poll of 11,500 people.

Gosh 11,500 people. You'd have thought there were many more people than that voting in the UK. Hmm This website alone has more than 11,500 people using it I would have thought.

ThebishopofBanterbury · 31/10/2019 19:25

Thank you op that's really useful!

MrsMaiselsMuff · 31/10/2019 19:29

The Conservatives have a head start and have a WA in the bag so I'm going with them.

A WA that is going to cost the economy £80 billion a year.

chomalungma · 31/10/2019 19:30

Gosh 11,500 people. You'd have thought there were many more people than that voting in the UK

It's more than the regular polls that are quoted in the papers which are based on about 2000 people.

11,500 people is not a bad survey to get more confidence in the results and a smaller margin of error.

It's surprising how few people you need to ask to get a reasonably good idea of what people think in the whole population, although weighting is quite hard to do.

WhenYouCantRunYouCrawl · 31/10/2019 19:33

The "just get it done" brigade crack me up.

If we leave the EU next year I absolutely guarantee that the next election after this one in five years time will be fought over Brexit, or more specifically, our relationship with the EU. There is no "just get it done" and the people who believe otherwise are hopelessly misinformed.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 31/10/2019 19:35

Get what done? 3 years on and still no one can tell me what is supposed to be better after Brexit.

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 19:35

YouGov also gives the Tories a 15 point lead over Labour today. Funny how you didn’t mention that! Grin

Ohhellooooo · 31/10/2019 19:36

you’re ok thanks Hmm

IsoscelesSandwich · 31/10/2019 19:36

“Get it done” is a load of sound bite nonsense. There will be nothing “done” about it for bloody ages. It will be a prolonged shit show. We should stay in the EU and and face our global challenges as a collective. Dam the Leave campaign and their clever manipulation of the media.

chomalungma · 31/10/2019 19:38

YouGov also gives the Tories a 15 point lead over Labour today. Funny how you didn’t mention that

Except it doesn't when you include the Don't knows.....
But I guess you won't mention that
Then it's weighted for likely to vote

There is definitely an interesting demographic difference in ages.

Gwiwer · 31/10/2019 19:39

Would prefer to vote Lib Dem but makes sense to vote Labour.

I also want Brexit over and done with - the only way to do that any time soon is to scrap the whole thing. If the WA passes, that's really just the first step.

Nanny0gg · 31/10/2019 19:42

I tells me to vote Labour in a rural seat that the Conservatives won with a 62% majority.

Somehow I don't think it will work...

HeresMe · 31/10/2019 19:43

Just vote for who you want stop this nonsense eithier they get in or not.

Gina Miller has lots of motives, people pretend she's some arbetore of truth she ain't.

notangelinajolie · 31/10/2019 19:45

I know this is a bit of a jokey thread but a serious question - do people really vote for a party if Gina Miller tells them to?

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 19:45

There is definitely an interesting demographic difference in ages.

So you believe their figures when they show something you like, and disbelieve them when they show something you don’t.

Great intellectual consistency you’ve got there!

Gwiwer · 31/10/2019 19:46

Just to add that tactical voting makes sense.

The Conservatives are actually down in the polls compared to the last election, however, the opposition vote is incredibly fractured.

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 19:46

do people really vote for a party if Gina Miller tells them to?

Some very gullible people might, I guess.

chomalungma · 31/10/2019 19:48

So you believe their figures when they show something you like, and disbelieve them when they show something you don’t

The figures show that there is a definite difference in the intentions of younger people vs older people.

That's all.

Some very gullible people might, I guess

Tactical voting works really well. I am sure all parties are doing it and maybe encouraging it.

There’s a lot of people ready and waiting to meddle in democracy these days aren’t there? Gina Miller throws £££ at this, reminds me of something...

Gwiwer · 31/10/2019 19:50

The website isn't based on matters of opinion, but on the results of the last election. It's probably the single best metric to use when tactical voting vs the Torries, although it does not capture potentially significant shifts in support among Remain voters since the last election.

chomalungma · 31/10/2019 19:51

I too wish i could say what i think of Gina Miller without fear of being arrested

She ensured that Parliament took back control.

I thought that was what people wanted.

Of course, if Parliament didn't take back control, then we would probably have had the Theresa May deal by now....

So I think some hard Brexiteers should be grateful for her, given their hatred of the May deal.

Babysharkisanearworm · 31/10/2019 19:53

And how much did Keir earn from her lawyers?

theduchessstill · 31/10/2019 19:53

Gosh the hatred towards Gina Miller, who has done nothing except ensure that the government follows the law and that parliament, which is at the centre of our democracy cannot be ignoredShock. People are outraged because she is privileged, then go on to state they will vote Tory! Unbelievable. How can people miss the irony in that??
