Looking at the shower and it's covered in limescale again. Not looking forward to spending ages sorting it out again. What do you all use? Ideally looking for something that dissolves the limescale off the glass with minimal effort Blush

Vinegar.
I live in the Alps so the water is really bad at clogging up the taps etc.

blackcat86 · 30/10/2019 13:22

I use the Tesco eco bathroom or kitchen spray (whatever we have in), sometimes a mix of vinegar/washing up liquid/water it's not as bad or the Tesco kitchen cleaner with bleach if its really grotty. I try to use something bleach based because I know it's bad for the environment but sometimes it's all that will do it.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/10/2019 13:23

Squeegee it after every use, so there are never any marks. But for the edge bits, probably Viakal.

AmIThough · 30/10/2019 13:23

I clean it with a standard bathroom spray cleaner then use windolene

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 30/10/2019 13:24

Viakal

AmIThough · 30/10/2019 13:24

Oh we also squeegee after every use but it still needs cleaning every so often

easyandy101 · 30/10/2019 13:25

Squeegee immediately at the end of every shower before it dries

FreeInk · 30/10/2019 13:25

If it really needs it then Viakal (when I haven't done it for a while) but otherwise cif and a sponge scourer.

JorisBonson · 30/10/2019 13:26

Daily shower spray after every use, white vinegar for regular cleaning and Viakal every 2 weeks to keep it looking scum free

StinkGhoul · 30/10/2019 13:26

Viakal spray is useless IMO. The liquid is better.

HG limescale remover is the best I’ve found so far - all the products I’ve tried from them have been great

WalkAwaySugarbear · 30/10/2019 13:26

If it's bad I use a strong limescale remover with a washing up brush but we squeegee everytime we use the shower so it rarely gets too bad.
Another good thing to use is car shampoo with wax in it, stops the water from staying on the glass.

handbagsatdawn33 · 30/10/2019 13:27

I've used Aldi's Shower Shine since we had a new bathroom installed, & I've never had to clean the screens.

DinaCaliente · 30/10/2019 13:28

A mix of Stardrops, white vinegar and water in a spray bottle.

Before it packed up I also used my Karcher to dry them off.

Ladybirdman · 30/10/2019 13:37

I live in the Alps so the water is really bad at clogging up the taps etc

Doesn't Evian flow from your taps?! Confused disappointed!

OP I use Cif (but in my head I use Jif. A mini private rebellion)

Wishuponaleprechaun · 30/10/2019 13:40

Vikal and a sponge scourer

areyoubeingserviced · 30/10/2019 13:48

Buy HG products-

dayswithaY · 30/10/2019 13:51

I was told by a manufacturer the best thing to use is weak washing up solution with hot water as the oily detergent dissolves the limescale. So that's what I use, then buff with a micro fibre cloth.

HappySonHappyMum · 30/10/2019 14:53

Thanks all - will try some of these and see what works best.

Is it for water marks? I use the Method Daily Shower spray. We don't use it after showers though, I just use it when I clean the bathroom. Spray on, sponge off and it always leaves it gleaming.

moominmammy · 30/10/2019 15:42

White vinegar and a washing up sponge. Viakal if I haven't done it for a while. Gets that mouldy, slimy stuff off the rubbery sealant bits too.

Paperdolly · 30/10/2019 16:04

Squeegee and then spray with daily shower spray before leaving shower. Never need to do any more.

LucyAutumn · 30/10/2019 16:52

Windolene

lovelyjubilly · 30/10/2019 16:57

Viakal is amazing.

Spray on, leave for 5 mins, wipe off.

IDontDrinkTea · 30/10/2019 16:59

Another vote for viakal here

BlueJava · 30/10/2019 17:02

Viakal or Mr Muscle limesvale remover. Spray on, leave 5 mins then scrub off.
