I just have norovirus or something but it has been going on for 5 days now with no signs of abating. I'm sleeping most of the time, when not vomiting or having diarrhoea. I've slept approx. 20 hours out of the past 24 and I'm still exhausted. Just sitting up is an effort. No pain apart from diarrhoea cramps and burning in my stomach when I drink anything.

@QuestionableMouse unfortunately shitting yourself sounds wholly typical of noro.

Minorityreports · 25/10/2019 21:45

Yes, I told them the underlying condition. As it is, all they're hearing is D&V.

Passthecherrycoke · 25/10/2019 21:46

Well then there you go. 111 are notoriously over zealous, so I’m sure they’ve risk assessed you to their standards

NovoJester · 25/10/2019 21:48

Have you made the diaryite OP? Have you taken their advice?

QuestionableMouse · 25/10/2019 21:48

Yes they do.

I know this because just yesterday I had to call them out for my mum.

Minorityreports · 25/10/2019 21:49

Well cherrycoke - thanks for the assessment. I shall take your input like I am currently taking my output.

OP posts:
Passthecherrycoke · 25/10/2019 21:51

That’s not actually what they’re for though. You can’t call them up and say I’ve had noro for 5 days and feel awful can you come out and check me over.

Minorityreports · 25/10/2019 21:51

No, because I can't get off the fucking chair for fear of shitting again. When I vomit, I wet myself and that's with pooping before and after.

OP posts:
Passthecherrycoke · 25/10/2019 21:52

Well you, are by default since I’m only suggesting you listen to 111s advice

Mollymoo01 · 25/10/2019 21:52

Do you have any friends/family that can bring you some thin soup, coke, sugary stuff, anything that could be helpful, and leave it outside your door?

If you are really stuck are you on ok terms with your ex? Could you ask him if you have absolutely no one else?

NovoJester · 25/10/2019 21:52

Paramedics are for life threatening emergencies and accidents FFS. Not bloody D and V.

Passthecherrycoke · 25/10/2019 21:53

It’s awful. It really really is. Honestly, I’ve had it about 4 times and each time thought I was going to die. But until it passes, that’s how it comes out

Btw utinating is a great sign you’re not dehydrated so that one little positive

QuestionableMouse · 25/10/2019 21:55

All this says that the op wouldn't be over reacting in seeking more medical advice.

Please tell me I'm not sick enough for A&E again
Mollymoo01 · 25/10/2019 21:55

Unfortunately OP you might just have to live with the fact you are going to poo yourself and just wear knickers for now (make the clean up easier Sad ) so you can make some makeshift dioralyte.

relax2 · 25/10/2019 21:57

Op I'm worried that you are alone and really think you need to push for more medical advice . You sound in a horrific way.

purplepalace · 25/10/2019 21:57

I've heard you can make your own rehydration drink with cooled boiled water, some sugar and a little bit of salt.

I've tried googling it but can't find anything (maybe it was an old wives tale?)

Good luck OP, it sounds really awful. If you could just get a little fluid down you and sleep a bit. Thanks

Minorityreports · 25/10/2019 21:58

The reason I was in hospital 3 weeks ago was sepsis caused by an infection (of unknown origin!).
I'm not really well enough to take more of a physical battering.

OP posts:
NovoJester · 25/10/2019 21:59

are you still on antibiotics?

Passthecherrycoke · 25/10/2019 21:59

Which she has had medical advice questionable mouse. I’m not sure what that screenshot is saying as I can’t see it in the link you’ve posted - both vomiting and diarrhoea are typical symptoms of noro as your link explains.

Anyway I can only see the following reasons to seek medical advice in your link

Please tell me I'm not sick enough for A&E again
AuchAyeTheNo · 25/10/2019 22:01

Remember to not take actual drinks of fluid. Tiny 5ml sips is key here. Once you keep that down an hour then build it up very slowly. If you take a normal mouthful on an empty stomach it will come straight back up.

Please don’t call the ambulance service or go to A&E. best thing is if things worsen to call Nhs again and speak to someone.

Passthecherrycoke · 25/10/2019 22:01

I’m Not really sure why you’re so desperate for OP to attend and A&E department she has no money to get to and could
Potentially infect people at tbh. She’s had medical advice. She needs rest, not traipsing around trying to work out how to get to A&E on a Friday night

Minorityreports · 25/10/2019 22:03

No, finished the antibiotics a week ago.

OP posts:
ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 25/10/2019 22:03

If you have had sepsis recently then your immune system may be weakened so you are struggling to fight this off. You have no gas, do you have any heating?

Minorityreports · 25/10/2019 22:05

Yes, I've an electric fan heater.

OvertiredandConfused · 25/10/2019 22:07

I was taken to A&E in an ambulance with similar symptoms. 111 called the ambulance. Loosing control of my bowels was the trigger for them.

I was severely dehydrated. Help with that and managing my bowels made such a difference. It wasn’t pleasant but no one thought I was overreacting
