I just have norovirus or something but it has been going on for 5 days now with no signs of abating. I'm sleeping most of the time, when not vomiting or having diarrhoea. I've slept approx. 20 hours out of the past 24 and I'm still exhausted. Just sitting up is an effort. No pain apart from diarrhoea cramps and burning in my stomach when I drink anything.

Slightly anaemic could actually be another sign of low B12. The serum blood tests are also known to be unreliable & can give a false negative up to 50% of the time.

It might not be that, but there's so much you mention here that I recognise from my own health problems & mine & my daughters root cause of pretty much all of it, has been pernicious anaemia, which is a genetic inability to process B12 properly, so it's definitely worth mentioning, especially if you do turn out to have POTs as it's a symptom of it.

@octoberlovers
Ahat made your dp know you needed hospital when 111 advised otherwise? I'd be scared I wouldn't know best thing to do.

Really hope you are on the winning side and improving lovely.

Can you ring the gas if you can manage it or get over to the shop if possible to get your hot water back on? If not boil some in a kettle etc to give yourself hot water to clean up yourself and the sides/things you come into contact with and to wash your hands with each time you've been to the toilet and to keep killing the virus off with?

If not can you post your location to within a certain area and we can see if mumsnet has anyone near to go and do that for you or some supplies etc?

I am so glad you are on the mend!!! Do be cautious though about attending your thyroid appointment - I would want to be 24-48 hrs clear of D&V before attending a hospital clinic which could have vulnerable there.

I hope you start to get some answers about your health problems.

Can I ask.... do you work? You sound quite isolated. If you don't work, could you start to take some classes or something just to get out and about to meet people? I hate the thoughts of you stuck in your home like that with literally no one to contact for help :-(

111 is useless mainly untrained medical people reading from a computer if ambulances and a and e depts could refuse to treat every drunk who calls and attends then the system would work
