I 'unfollowed' (shudders) an acquantaince on Facebook who was always posting about her child's tomsilitess. My SPAG finger was getting too twitchy...

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/10/2019 14:40

Acquaintance, ffs...

There was a photo in a club competition last night. It was an image of a lovely little girl in her school uniform in front of a huge chalk board with writing on. The thing that stood out immediately was the word "photo's". This is annoying enough but the inconsistency bugged me: there were other plurals and none of them had an apostrophe.

My phone does like to make me look like an illiterate fool though; not only does it insist on putting apostrophes where they shouldn't be or removing them from where they should, it also replaces whole words after I've typed them and quite a lot of the time I miss them. I might want to write, "I'm in the house," for example, and it will change in to on for no apparent reason.

JorisBonson · 22/10/2019 14:44

Oh FFS @Itsallpetetong. Laughing too loudly at my desk!

ExitLightEnterNight · 22/10/2019 14:45

I see "alot" and "abit" quite a lot now, too.

DerbyshireGirly · 22/10/2019 14:49

I love seeing adverts titled "Mrs" or "Jean Smith" etc.

People obviously see the field asking for the advert title and think it's actually asking for their title.

redchocolatebutton · 22/10/2019 14:50

she could of spillt it better

DontCallMeShitley · 22/10/2019 14:50

Quite a few people have their cat spaded. I thought they meant they were killing them with a spade at first.

Sforsh49 · 22/10/2019 14:54

Tierd drives me mad!! Makes my teeth itch!!

StrongTea · 22/10/2019 14:55

Ha! Lidl have only gone and included "Chest of Draws" in their latest leaflet... I may have to contact them to point out the error of their ways.

The ELF display in Boots currently has a serum that says above it 'Smooth's Skin.'

Poor Smooth. Who skinned her, and how did they get her skin into the tube? Sad

RevRichardWayneGaryWayne · 22/10/2019 15:04

Crystal1981 · 22/10/2019 15:32

Seen quite a few of these two ! Wallah is actually an Arabic word which means 'I swear' (hear it all the time in my school ! "
I have also seen people saying" Have you ever ate" instead of eaten, and the famous 'on route !!'

ViciousJackdaw · 22/10/2019 15:39

I've ad enuff off all this, I need sum restbite

Yuccatree · 22/10/2019 15:46

'Discusted' is one I saw recently on MN.

Then there is the classic 'generally' it shocks me how many adults don't realise the word is genuinely.

Cupola · 22/10/2019 15:47

I hate the word fuming, detest it being spelt fumin' but the worst is fewmin

Starlight39 · 22/10/2019 15:53

An acquaintance on FB would often say she was so board. I couldn't help but imagine her walking round as stiff as a board. She hasn't said it recently so I'm wondering if someone mentioned it.

Wheat2Harvest · 22/10/2019 15:58

I do hope you don't have a viscous dog - or maybe I'm being rediculous.

Skyejuly · 22/10/2019 16:05

Someone tagged a pic inpatient...meaning impatient

Wheat2Harvest · 22/10/2019 16:06

Mmm. Spag bowl. My fav. Bon apple tea xx

The worst variation on this that I have ever seen is 'Bon Apetit'.

FrankenCat · 22/10/2019 16:10

But some of these people on FB have defiantly come on heaps and bounds
