To think if you let your child win pass the parcel at their own birthday party it tells me everything I need to know about you.

Well, am I?

I mean, come on.

Honestly it wouldn't bother me much but it is very bad manners

I agree-bad manners but honestly, the DC's will have forgotten about it by now. Why can't MN's? Enough!

I won pass the parcel once (not on my birthday): the prize was a red plastic mouth organ. Should I have offered it to the birthday children? They were twins, so they would have to fight over it anyway! Grin One of the last layers of paper was the carefully salvaged wrapper from a Crunch bar, so the children thought that's what the prize would be.

(Misses the point of the thread)

Growing up it was always a packet of sweets in between each layer and the birthday boy/girl wins the main present.

I didn’t play it at my sons party anyway because I hate the game. Goes on for ages and someone always ends up crying

Mycatwontstopstaring · 25/10/2019 22:23

Every party I’ve been to does this! I thought I was the only person to find it weird so thank you OP.

We don’t play it at our parties, cos it is a rubbish game and most kids don’t enjoy it. I have no idea why it’s so popular.

My dc have only ever attended parties at local play centres where there are no games- just play equipment and food and cake. I thought party games had died out years ago....
