We have twin boys who are 3, both autistic and non verbal.

They love songs and one has recently started signing for more so I want to try and encourage them. They also don’t have much interest in people especially other children.

After doing some reading I decided to buy a living puppet / signing puppet and it’s just arrived...

This thing is going to come to life and kill with its empty floppy hands, isn’t it?

Put it in the attic, move house, let the next people who move in deal with it.

I sat it up last night to scare DH in the morning but then one of the twins was sick so I got up with him and was confronted with this...

OP a friend of mine was once given a super-creepy, v. large doll. We all went on a trip away to a cottage and she sneakily brought it with her, then when no one was looking, stood it on the outside windowsill, with the window closed, looking in. We all shat ourselves! :o

Fortunately it doesn’t sing - it’s for signing
(Sgnalong, Makaton etc). So fortunately there’s no chance of it suddenly starting to sing in the night... I hope.

Been out running errands and have come home and it’s still in the same place - I think he’s trying to lull me into a false sense of security.

Just to add to the general sense of unease that no thing living or dead should own a mouth like that. Do those dots on its face make the five pointed pentacle sign of Satan?

I've just remembered... When I was a kid I had a mermaid doll. It could sing and when put in water its tail changed colour. I used to play with her in the bath and had hours of fun. So I'm told.

Unfortunately the only memory I had of the thing was when the battery gave out while I was playing with her in the bath. She went from singing this in this high pitched princess like voice to suddenly singing slower and slower and her voice getting deeper and deeper until it sounded like she was possessed by a demon.

I have never screamed so loudly and I never touched it again.

I find the resemblance to Boris so strong, that it means I'm unable to see past that and judge whether or not he's cute, creepy, evil. All I see is..... Boris

DT2 got his first pair of glasses today and has spent a lot of time looking at BJ with distrust. I suspect his nonchalance yesterday was because he couldn’t make out those hands very well. We haven’t been able to assess his vision loss by conventional means but maybe this is a more effective test...

Do I donate BJ? Would it be wrong to pass the evil on to someone else? If I take him to a charity shop will I get back to find him sitting in my window? These are the pressing questions...
