It's really annoying. It's making Mumsnet something it isn't.

All these posts from "Mummytojakeandkayleighxx"
Ooh I love that hun xx

Makes me feel like flouncing.
But I still get loads of out of being here.

But the Troubles in Netmums have bought it all over here.

Nicecupofcoco · 17/10/2019 14:08

Ahh hun, don't sweat it! 🙈 Grin xx

NoDontLookAtMeImShy · 17/10/2019 14:10

You’re upset because people are nice to other people?

Are you on the correct thread? I haven't said anything like that whatsoever. In fact on one of my posts I said exactly the opposite.

OP posts:
FrivolousPancake · 17/10/2019 14:10

Cringing for you OP (and imaging the call out traveler videos “See you, shite in a bucket! I want to fight you man to man”

Cop the fuck on 🤣

BuildBuildings · 17/10/2019 14:11

U OK hun? Xx

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 17/10/2019 14:12

Ok xx

Bourbonbiccy · 17/10/2019 14:16

It's making Mumsnet something it isn't.

Surely by its very nature if that is what is currently happening in here, that is what mumsnet is.

It may be evolving into something you don't like, so it's for you to take yourself off not encourage others to belittle some users.....but that response may be too lovely for you.

I really can't see why it would get you worked up, what harm are they doing ?

TheCanterburyWhales · 17/10/2019 14:18

I've only been here for 15 years so don't expect to boss people about and act like I'm the Queen of Mumsnet.
I've also noticed the poor SPaG of posters criticising the SPaG of others.
Every person on this thread having the vapours over the poor English has made mistakes that, if I were: a) doing my job of marking English papers b) a twat, I'd be red-penning.

Kisses etc

LesLavandes · 17/10/2019 14:29

I agree OP. I don't understand it.

I have lived in a couple of countries in Europe and have friends in South America. In their mind 'xxx' is a porn movie!!!

I occasionally use it with close friends but not on a forum.

Ok hun. Point taken. Xxxx ❤

Kaykay06 · 17/10/2019 14:39

I sometimes do it out of habit as I send them to mum/boyfriend and if I’m tired it happens it’s not a big deal is it

MangoSalsa · 17/10/2019 14:42

@Vampyress you are amazing for doing that. A few kind strangers just being a bit extra thoughtful and nice after my mum died (which then made me go through all my abusive childhood memories) got me through some really dark times when I was literally all on my own in a strange place.

You and those like you have my undying gratitude, respect and appreciation. Thank you

emmetgirl · 17/10/2019 14:45

Definitely xxx

confusedmaybe · 17/10/2019 14:46

summersherewishiwasnt · 17/10/2019 14:49

@NoDontLookAtMeImShy
Happy fucking Thursday to you too hun. Xxxxx

pigsDOfly · 17/10/2019 14:51

I didn't realize that was a hierarchy here

When I joined some years ago, there definitely was a hierarchy on here. There were a lot of 'in jokes' and some boards, particularly AIBU had a very strong cliche of 'senior posters', some of whom seemed to feel AIBU was their personal property.

Thankfully, that seems to have disappeared to a great extent now.

There'll always be posters who feel it was better in the 'old days', doesn't mean it was.

GroggyLegs · 17/10/2019 14:57

I like a considered x on the right thread.

And a good 😂

MustardScreams · 17/10/2019 14:58

@TheCanterburyWhales there’s a difference between spelling mistakes that are likely caused by stupid autocorrect, and typing sentences like ‘omggg my bubba is so ill wot do I do, thanks ladies xxxxx’

Bourbonbiccy · 17/10/2019 15:18

I really don't understand how p/why some people feel they have a right to dictate how others express themselves and to even suggest it makes them more superior in anyway is laughable.

Bourbonbiccy · 17/10/2019 15:20

omggg my bubba is so ill wot do I do, thanks ladies xxxxx’

Why would that upset you though, it's not my choice of vocabulary, but it's just someone else's way of expressing themselves ?

Not always @MustardScreams, my mum had a very poor education and didn't know the difference between sea or see, there or their and wear, where or were but she made sure we did.

It didn't mean her opinions were not valid and she should be excluded from sharing her points. She just didn't know how to get them down on paper in a way others would expect, she had great points and ideas.

IMO,It's a shame some are still so dismissive of such people.
