It's really annoying. It's making Mumsnet something it isn't.

All these posts from "Mummytojakeandkayleighxx"
Ooh I love that hun xx

Makes me feel like flouncing.
But I still get loads of out of being here.

But the Troubles in Netmums have bought it all over here.

It does matter because I miss intelligent conversation without being called a ‘hun’ or my teeth itching from the horrendous grammar and spelling.

Plus you can’t have a lighthearted thread anymore with countless posters getting highly irate about nothing. It’s ridiculous.

MustardScreams · 17/10/2019 10:24

*without

PortiaCastis · 17/10/2019 10:24

Call out the ddoggers too if you're going to be a self appointed judge

Vilanelle · 17/10/2019 10:26

you ok hun xx

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 17/10/2019 10:27

I wuws my DDog

antisupermum · 17/10/2019 10:28

Just because you've been on MN for years doesn't give you some intrinsic right to police how other members interact Hmm

The snobbery about Netmums boggles my mind - why shouldn't they use a public forum any way they want to? And the assumptions that just because someone gives kisses on a post means they must be NM immigrants is absurd.

Wafflecopter · 17/10/2019 10:28

About 3 years under different names?
Surely there is much more out there to be annoyed about than some ‘kisses’ at the end of a paragraph?
That being said I’m a one who will read the OP and their replies and tend to skim through other comments, so maybe I’m not invested enough.

ThatMuppetShow · 17/10/2019 10:28

I never understand the point of kisses xxx to perfect strangers, but calling them out? Really? Who can be bothered to care so much?

And YABU to go on about the good old days of Mumsnet Hmm

NoSauce · 17/10/2019 10:30

Agree and tbh this is more annoying than the xxx so many people FUMMING over nothing.

ExcitedForFuture · 17/10/2019 10:31

YADNBU!! It's twee and irritating. Constructive support and advice can be given without hunning and xxx.

The standards of English are going down too, posts that are barely literate (not referring to English as a second language) with appalling, if any, punctuation.

What's going on at NM anyway?

Igotthemheavyboobs · 17/10/2019 10:31

Shit the bed, I've been here near on a decade and sometimes put an x accidentally. I'm not twee, I just forget who the message is for.

PennyNotSoWise · 17/10/2019 10:32

I keep seeing loads of posts referring to the 'trouble at netmums', but no one says what the trouble is.

Anyone know, or is it speculation?

MangoSalsa · 17/10/2019 10:33

Oh (tilts head, tinkly little laugh)

onanothertrain · 17/10/2019 10:34

The term "call out" pisses me off

so many people FUMMING over nothing.

Yes! I called someone out (ha, there we are again. I said it!) on that yesterday.

Someone desperately needed help on a thread, really suffering with her health to the point where it affected her life every day and someone had a hissy fit over a the way she worded something. And took massive offence.
Fucking idiot.

I've no idea what The Troubles were over at Nethuns, but all I know is that we are bloody paying for it.

And LOL @ me being a snob.

There's a massive difference between class (as you see it?) and intelligence.

OP posts:
Skyejuly · 17/10/2019 10:41

I think I do out of habit but I dont really notice or care if others do.

maras2 · 17/10/2019 10:41

Are posters leaving Netmums because the new site is a bit, well, crap?

NeverMindHunxxx · 17/10/2019 10:41

Yes, this is the nub.

Meirou90 · 17/10/2019 10:44

I’m not arsed really x but it does slightly annoy me when they’re used in place of full stop x like this xx

1984isnow · 17/10/2019 10:45

'Call out' is worse than the kisses. Proper keyboard warrior shite

NeverMindHunxxx · 17/10/2019 10:46
