example a discussion on pasta, poster arrives how dare you talk kindly about pasta, pasta has ruined my life blah blah. Thread mood killer.

On the other hand, you have horribly bitchy threads and when the OP is "called out" , they have the "but it was lighthearted" excuse ready. Lighthearted or not, it's still fine to tell an OP they are stupid.
