To feel really sorry for Prince Harry breaking down

AviationLifystyle · 16/10/2019 09:56

At the awards show. I have been a little skeptical about him recently but my heart really went out to him when I saw the footage.

I have a feeling that having a child has triggered a huge amount of unresolved grief and anxiety. Now he has this dear little boy who is at the mercy of the tabloid press, as is his wife and there is little he can do to protect him.

It's time the press laid off. This is a human being breaking in front of us.

Oh well, if he just is very special then I hope they might just make an exception for him.

cakeisalwaystheanswer · 22/10/2019 10:39

Lots of speculation but no-one has picked up on the obvious of how H&M will fund new lives. At the moment daddy makes a very generous allownace of £3-4 million from his duchy income, it can be stopped at any time. And living outside the uk would mean having to pay for their own housing, travel etc, foreign taxpayers aren't going to pick up the bill every time they want the garden rearranged.
And note that on Charles's death this income passes to W, and next on to George. Charles funds his childrens lifestyles, he does not fund his siblings and W will do the same. If C pops his clogs tommorow there is a huge drop in income for H&M, Andrew is given an allowance of only £200k by mumsy.

"He doesn't have to display any special qualities yet. He just is very special and will play a vital role in the world. He needs to be protected from all this negativity and his special qualities will become apparent later on."

You have to be American.

ExecutiveFiat · 22/10/2019 10:45

@ archie is very special Pmsl

mrscampbellblackagain · 22/10/2019 10:49

So this has taken a very odd turn with the 'very special archie' posts!

Interesting about the allowances from Charles. Harry inherited a lot from the Queen Mother didn't he? I would imagine he would be able to scrape by.

Susiesoap7 · 22/10/2019 10:52

All I can say is just
grow up h & m, get on with life!
We've all had traumas and learnt how to live with them

MarathonMo · 22/10/2019 11:00

Prince A has much more than 200k a year to live on.

cakeisalwaystheanswer · 22/10/2019 11:15

Prince A's official income is £200k, there was an article in the MOS which I linked to on the PA thread which demanded an enquiry as to how he has managed to acquire expensive assets, ridiculous lifestyle etc when he supposedly has no other income. The end to this whole ridiculous RF farce is in sight.

cakeisalwaystheanswer · 22/10/2019 11:16

And mrscampbellblack, scraping by may be what they have to do. Imagine the cost of having to buy your own home and pay the builders yourselves. And then there's the taxman....

mrscampbellblackagain · 22/10/2019 11:17

I thought Harry was worth something like £40 million. Although was an article recently about the wealth of the RF and how hidden it all is. They won't go short even if not Royals.

Cookit · 22/10/2019 11:18

I’m confused about whether He just is very special and will play a vital role in the world is tongue in cheek or not?

All babies are special but anymore than any other baby?

There are lots of things I don’t like about Charles but I’m definitely with him on slimming down the monarchy. Andrew will be irrelevant pretty soon thank God. I think slimming down should kind of go for H&M too. They are not directly in the line of succession and should take a secondary or back up role only. They should take less money from the public purse and do less high profile visits and tours. I think in part the Royal Family messed up here a bit by giving them such a prominent role. I’m not sure who (RF or media?) dreamt up the “Fab Four” thing but it was ridiculous.

If H&M want something for themselves that isn’t roles as relatively minor roles in a royal family which is less and less relevant to most people, touring charities then they should become private citizens and do whatever it is they want to do.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/10/2019 11:18

Are you saying Archie is a Holy child?!

Cerseirys · 22/10/2019 11:19

I think someone is having a laugh...

Cerseirys · 22/10/2019 11:19

Unless of course Archie ends up the next Dalai Lama!

BertrandRussell · 22/10/2019 11:21

I’m assuming this is irony?

I thought Harry had megabucks from Diana? Pretty sure he’s not short of a few bob.

DonKeyshot · 22/10/2019 11:21

I do hope that Harry and Megan have the common sense and decency to participate in Remembrance Sunday with the rest of the Royal Family even though it is in the middle of their 6 week holiday

It would nice to think that Harry will take a hour or so out of his protracted holiday to honour his fallen colleagues, alseb.

I was wondering whether H&M will be wearing poppies when they sofa hop between Oprah and Ellen and, if so, whether they'll talk about the significance of the flowers or draw attention to them in any way.

derxa · 22/10/2019 11:27

I love how the Royal toadies are determined to ignore the fact that William has been balls deep in half of Norfolk. Hmm Aren't you lovely.

merrygoround51 · 22/10/2019 11:28

When talking about how Meghan has been unfairly treated are people forgetting Fergie and the toe sucking, Sophie and the set up, Camilla and the tampon phone call and horse analogies, Uncle Gary and the drugs sting ........I mean I could go on and on.

The tabloid press are horrendous towards the Royal Family and although it doesn't make it right, Meghan is no different.

What does make Meghan and Harry stand out is their strong belief that they should be treated differently - that ^they* are somehow above reproach or commentary.

I wouldnt want their lives but the absolute nerve of both of them being all 'poor me' in that setting is jaw dropping.

They are both narcissists and he seems unbalanced on top of it all

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/10/2019 11:28

I do object to one (now two) of them being held to different standards to the rest

I agree with the general principle, Laurie, but it's really not going to wash this time. In choosing to make things so much about them in Africa of all places, they've just destroyed any argument that they do nothing different to other royals

A PP suggested this might all be part and parcel of hastening the end of the monarchy, to which I can only borrow Tesco's handy phrase "every little helps" ...

merrygoround51 · 22/10/2019 11:29

Maybe so, but the point is that he and Kate arent doing interviews about how unfair that speculation is, they are just keeping quiet in public anyway.

mrscampbellblackagain · 22/10/2019 11:30

@whatafackingliberty - are you half of Norfolk?

Cookit · 22/10/2019 11:31

Prince A has much more than 200k a year to live on. Maybe not... I imagine it’s more that he doesn’t pay for anything. He seems to put a lot of effort into having rich, dodgy friends who I guess give him free holidays on yachts and free private flights. And then he probably combines official “work” (patronages?) where everything is expensed with his own interests and hobbies.

I think it’s a bit of an issue really that the royals outside of the line of succession are so reliant on others to find their lifestyles. So Andrew has seedy friends and worse and H&M are just in with rich celebrities so they can get free holidays. It all just seems a bit unseemly. W&K don’t need to go begging and surround themselves with such people because they’ll always have access to funds.
