If you must send a text send “hi X, received £24 from you today- you actually owe £35 so you need to send another £11.”

And nothing else! No please, no thank you, no hope you’re okay. Nothing! Grin

I'm genuinely wondering if B thinks you are somehow pulling a fast one and financially gaining from your arrangement. We know she's a twat but is she thick as well?

Grin saint! Given that context the phrase “Chong a dong” makes as much sense as “shitting your ears off” Grin

And when she texts back

" but I'll pay end of month like normal..."

Text I AM NOT YOUR BANK BITCH!!!!!!!

But I know you won't because you're too nice and have to sit across the desk from her and the dressage ponies and all . But hey I tried.

Can not wait till she comes in tomorrow. Maybe she'll swoosh off on hols at a moments notice to avoid paying the £11 and not come in.

That will be agony for us.

@itswinetime Oh goodness, another one.

Why not just google it and see what comes up? Hmm

What card it is is not the topic on hand and it's becoming annoying how a few are taking the thread off topic.

Google is your friend.

I'd exclude her from the arrangement, as long as you are prepared to exclude anyone in future who owes money. I cannot see it is bullying if you are consistent.

The OP's text was good, send that.

BirdyTweet · 14/10/2019 15:49

I wouldn't exclude her permanently, just say she can only order if she pays in advance and that rule applies to everyone. (As she would have to in any regular sandwich shop!)

I don't think excluding her can be seen as bullying now considering her attitude. Simply explain it how it is and let it be, you do not owe her anything. The entire team has seen what she is like so I don't think anyone could really blame you for excluding her from the arrangement.

So, on Friday, if she wants to eat, she will owe you £16.50?
OP - is this a credit card you are using? Are you getting charged interest because you haven't been able to repay the full amount on time?
(apologies if this has been mentioned - I have scanned TFT)
Does the interest need to be recovered from B?
Just a thought.

Place marking for B (madameBface) to pay you the rest of the money owed. She is bonkers (hi if she’s found the thread).
B, heads up, when you go to a restaurant, the manager might not pay the staff until the end of the month. That doesn’t mean you don’t be pay for the food there and then and pay him at the en-suite of the month th in case he makes 1p in interest. The interest the OP makes is probably about 1p a year of that for fucks sake! Pay her the money up front on Friday.

OP, glad the rest of the office have your back. Who is able to work an office job but doesn’t have online banking? Or Paypal?

Although I’m desperate to know if she pays the £11, I personally think this should signal the end of lunch club. I think she’ll always repeat this behaviour every month and may try pulling other stunts in the future. HR also warned against it continuing - not that their word is law - but maybe they have a good idea that this could escalate in the future.

@NoSquirrels that other poster ended up selling the ticket to her sister as the CF never paid up. Poster in question was not going to take any shit from her.

Is there a group message going on re lunches.
Hi all I'm still £11 short, please make sure it's paid today.
Just a reminder that money needs to be in my bank or in my tin before I order because this has become way too much hard work.

My daughters work all have a monza (?) account to pay each other easily for food orders at work.
