@dontlikeoranges. I’m sorry to hear that! But OTOH golden opportunity to treat yourself to one you live & all from the comfort of your sofa!

Grambler · 15/10/2019 13:21

This is my toast rack- I couldn't find a matching butter dish.

That's a nice road track. I've got a crappy stainless steel one from Woolies. I need a ceramic one

Road track?Grin

What a lovely thread! I need a better butter dish...

What is the glass cow one like? I've never seen one.

Related question- where do you get bigger blocks of butter? Someone mentioned a 500g one?

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 15/10/2019 14:35

Waitrose and Asda both do 500g blocks.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/10/2019 14:44

OmiGod, Grambler!

Is that a GUINEA PIG?

Grambler · 15/10/2019 14:51

Why yes it is a Guinea pig Grin

twosoups1972 · 15/10/2019 14:53

@TomHagenMakesMyBosomTremble I love the Le Creuset one! I want one. Now do I get black to match my black granite worktops, or teal to match my glass splash back...??

DisappointingBanana · 15/10/2019 14:54

Grambler is that Quail ceramics, your guinea pig roast rack? I have two of the matching egg cups! Grin

WeirdCatLady · 15/10/2019 14:55

twosoups - why not both and get both salted and unsalted? 🖤💙

hondagirl500 · 15/10/2019 14:58

I have a glass Kilner one, but I want a spotty purple one! Just been on Amazon....loads to choose from!

picklemepopcorn · 15/10/2019 15:03

Thanks Peabody!

I'm going to start looking in charity shops. I think I want a collection. Not just butter dishes, but nice versions of all the basics I have. And from charity shops, so I won't feel like a wasteful consumer replacing things that don't need replacing.

Hurrah. I've missed shopping!

twosoups1972 · 15/10/2019 15:04

@WeirdCatLady funny you should say that, dd1 is the only one in our family who likes unsalted so I have to keep some separately for her!

Damn, I thought I was very content with my Alessi boat shaped butter dish until I saw all these!

Davros · 15/10/2019 15:10

twosoups get both and swap the kids over Grin

CassandraCross · 15/10/2019 15:10

Perhaps MNHQ could do a Mumsnet Approved Butter Dish with someone? Le Creuset seems quite a popular choice on here!

Davros · 15/10/2019 15:10

I do mean lids

everythingthelighttouches · 15/10/2019 15:16

Loving this thread!!

I had a cath kidston one in one of her first patterns and smashed It after I tripped (butter dish in hand) and banged my coccyx trying to save it!

I have been looking for a suitable replacement for ONE YEAR and hadn’t found one I liked enough....

Just ordered the whale one so I’m very happy.

AllTheOtherCats · 15/10/2019 15:18

Here's mine. Love it because it's a buttery yellow Smile
