I have a three year old autistic DS who is in love with washing machines. He loves looking at photographs of them, and often my friends will send me pictures of theirs so that he can get a good fix. He particularly likes talking about the brands and the number of kg the washing machine can hold Grin

I'm starting a new job with longer hours today, so it will be a hard transition for him. Some washing machine pictures would cheer him up I'm sure! Google is fine for images but this would make it a little more personal.

So: would it BU of me to ask for pictures of your washing machines? Blush

Glad to see the Casdon washers are still going strong. DS2 destroyed a Casdon dyson when he was younger. His own vacuum cleaner obsession ended when i bought a miele that he's shit scared of! ( use that to my advantage as, now a teen, he has no filter and sometimes I need a breather!)

Haha, I should have known you’d be several steps ahead of me on this OP!

Back again!

So here's my Zanussi Lindo 100 8KG washing machine and on top of that we have our tumble dryer which is an Indesit.

This is the third house they have lived in as we have moved house three times in 4 years and they live in the utility room. I never have them on at the same time but instead they take their turn to be used, washing machine first, then the tumble dryer with the washing machine reloaded again, with the timer set to start when the tumble dryer finishes it's cycle and so on.

They are both 5 years old.

The washing machine makes a lovely loud beep when it's finished it's load and continues beeping every minute until I open the door. Sometimes I can't hear it but my dog can and she nuzzles me then runs to the utility room door to let me know.

Hello!

Here is my old washing machine - a Bosch - it was the first appliance I bought all by myself and I used it almost every day for 14 years before it stopped working. I was so proud of myself for earning enough money to go into a shop, look at all the machines and choose the one I liked best.

I washed everything from baby clothes to cat beds in it, as well as children's and grown up clothes and bedlinen. Each wash took about two and a half hours from start to finish.

When I had to replace it, I chose this Hoover one, which can wash my work shirts in 14 minutes and makes lots of happy beeping noises when I set it and when it finishes. It's got a special feature where I can set it using my phone, but I haven't needed to use that yet, as I'm by the machine putting the clothes in already, so just make it beep by turning the dial and pushing the touchpads instead.

Work shirts in 14 mins ... I was washer envy

(Ours is a washer dryer - everything seems to take 3 hours!)

This is my washing machine! It’s my first ever one and I love it. I spent ages agonising over cost, colour and capacity. I ended up with this Bush 10kg with 1400 spin. Everyone said I was mad wanting such a big machine when there was only me and DP, but FIL (who bought it as a moving gift) said the bigger the better as less likely to overload it and wear the bearings out. It’s just over a year old and I’ve got the matching tumble dryer coming next Sunday which I’ve been waiting to come in stock since this time last year. Its been wiped down for a picture - who knew the doors got so dusty Blush
I hope your new job is great and your DS is still enjoying his pictures!

Just to add I don't feel so much of a slattern now I've seen that loads of us leave all those labels on the machines.
I bet they peel off really easily too, we me are just lazy
