To ask where I can buy nice bed linen that doesn’t require me to remortgage my house?!!

For reasons that are too boring and outing to enter into, I recently threw away most of my nice bed linen. Not that I had a whole load, but a couple of pretty sets from The White Company that I bought years ago.

I’m really struggling with their prices now though - even in the sale! Some of the double duvet covers cost over £200?!! The cheapest are around £80.

So where can I buy nice bed linen that doesn’t cost the earth? I’m after: white, 100% cotton, but something pretty- embroidered, or with a bit of trim, a bit of detail. Your suggestions please!

TK Maxx all the way.

Nowhere · 11/10/2019 21:18

TK Maxx or Dunelm

SoftSheen · 11/10/2019 21:19

John Lewis

EmmaC78 · 11/10/2019 21:19

Laura Ashley if the sale is on or Dunelm.

OhTheRoses · 11/10/2019 21:20

Actually Sainsbury are pretty good; as are Debenhams and M&S.

PippaPug · 11/10/2019 21:20

H and m? Sleep and soak?

PippaPug · 11/10/2019 21:20

Soak and sleep it may be!

Pumpkintopf · 11/10/2019 21:21

Soak and sleep are good and reasonably priced.

PiratePetespajamas · 11/10/2019 21:22

Oooh thank you. Keep ‘em coming! Can I really find decent stuff in TKMaxx? I never find anything nice in there! I think I must just be bad at shopping...

secret linen store (sale section!)

Blueoasis · 11/10/2019 21:23

Tkmaxx has designer stuff but at severely reduced prices.

Frenchfancy · 11/10/2019 21:23

Just linens or linens limited.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 11/10/2019 21:25

TKMaxx. I got a lovely duvet cover and matching pillowcases there just recently, and my all-time favourite linen/cotton hand-printed duvet cover was from there too.

TimeforanotherChange · 11/10/2019 21:25

Dunelm. Loads of choice and excellent value for money.

Bluntness100 · 11/10/2019 21:27

Amazon believe it or not. All my bed linen is white, and you get some really decent sets on Amazon for great prices.

nearlynermal · 11/10/2019 21:28

Another vote for Soak & Sleep.

BreezyTrees · 11/10/2019 21:28

Boundary Mill if you have one nearby.

chartreuse · 11/10/2019 21:29

Zara home and H&M both do lovely linen sheets and duvet covers

user1486131602 · 11/10/2019 21:29

Next, the quality is good an so are the prices

DontCallMeShitley · 11/10/2019 21:29

TK Maxx and Homesense have some good stuff but equally have some of the nasty stuff that reeks of chemicals. Be sure you get a well known name if you shop there.

Tartyflette · 11/10/2019 21:30

This is from Next, £40 for a double size set of duvet cover and two pillowcases.

We got a really pretty jersey set for DSDS room from Primark recently and DH is adamant that we need a set for our room ASAP as he went in there for a kip recently and said it was the best thing ever. It was £18 for a single set, including fitted sheet and seems great quality. Can’t argue with that.

maggiecate · 11/10/2019 21:34

TK Max have fancy stuff at good discounts, and Wilko is pretty good for every day. Don’t know if they still do them but I got 400 thread count fitted sheets there that are as good as my re expensive ones I’ve had in the past

sproutsandparsnips · 11/10/2019 21:36

Dunelm or the Range

MsRinky · 11/10/2019 21:40

Home Sense is the specific homewares arm of TK Maxx, and is usually even better, although my best ever score of Frette million count perfection came from TK Maxx.
