I have always wondered this. Anyone ever been offered crap street food? Seen them running around shops looking for obscure items?

I had Tre from series 3 in my living room once, filming an interview with our local lib dem candidate for the 2010 election. No idea why now! I also used to see Margaret at work sometimes, using the library. Random apprentice spots... I don't watch it any more.

CuttySnark · 11/10/2019 22:59

Never seen a live task, but Stella English lives in my village.

Roussette · 11/10/2019 23:14

Salamander great to hear Stuart the Brand was a great guy. It came across.

Binglebong · 11/10/2019 23:17

I hate seeing the ones where tourists get duped. They could be on a holiday of a lifetime and they end up losing time and money to those tosses. Sad

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 11/10/2019 23:19

The baby faced twat on the current show who wears his coat over his shoulders like some pound shop Godfather or Bugsey Malone extra needs to fall under a bus as well. The obnoxious cunt
Amen

LadyGAgain · 11/10/2019 23:23

Amen. Again.

100PercentThatBitch · 11/10/2019 23:25

Yes @Binglebong that was all I could think on the South Africa episode, unsuspecting tourists being duped by what they think is an established and respectable company.

Greenleaveslaughing · 11/10/2019 23:28

One, many series ago was an estate agent, who came to value our house.
Wore a Mac, which definitely wasn’t remotely fashionable or usual attire at the time, except perhaps in his office.
Gave me a reasonable deal on their fees when I haggled, didn’t sell the house, but the market was dreadful at the time.

A contestant who was on it about 5 or 6 years ago once drove into the back of my (newly purchased) car when I was doing teacher training in the early 2000s Angry
Claimed his shoes were slippery, but it was stationary traffic and he accelerated into the back of me, causing me to hit the van in front.

He was uninsured at the time, but nothing happened as a result of it, as he lied at the scene about his insurers, so wasn't caught driving uninsured by the police Hmm

It cost me £100s in lost no-claims, increased insurance premiums etc. I'm still fuming and had to stop watching when he rocked up on the programme.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 11/10/2019 23:35

Ex-collegues of mine saw Apprentice contestants flogging stuff near our office at Leadenhall Market - I think it was sausages. Quite sensibly, they didn't purchase any.

ThatMuppetShow · 11/10/2019 23:41

But in reality, of course, they would google it and have the answers in seconds. For some reason in the Apprentice world that isn’t allowed, and it makes it all extremely artificial in my opinion.

I think it's a pretty good task actually, it's like an interview, it's not about the task itself, but how people handle it and use their brain. Even if they clearly don't.

Grobagsforever · 12/10/2019 00:06

One of the contestants worked at my company and I threw her out of a training session even though she was three grades senior to me.

That's all I've got

GunpowderGelatine · 12/10/2019 00:12

Wonder if they really do get 20 mins to get ready

I always think this.

I am lightening quick at getting ready for work - straighten hair, pick out and put on clothes , do make up. But even I'd struggle at 20 minutes. These women who get up, it shows them giggling or eating a fucking croissant, even ironing their shirts and then they turn up at the Gherkin allegedly 20 minutes lasted looking like supermodels...20 minutes my arse

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 12/10/2019 00:23

Elizabeth Mckenna lives in my town with her very successful florist shop.

100PercentThatBitch · 12/10/2019 01:16

I loved/hated Elizabeth very entertaining but so frustrating as well

100PercentThatBitch · 12/10/2019 01:18

I'd struggle to get out of bed, and do basic hygiene within 20 minutes, but I'm like a bloody Zombie in the morning

GrimDamnFanjo · 12/10/2019 01:39

Just remembered another tenuous connection- my mums friends son is married to the sister of a contestant who got to the interview stage.
He told everyone he was going on a business trip to America during the filming.

Brian9600 · 12/10/2019 17:29

A friend was in the one where they had to make canapés (being served canapés). Apparently they were hours late and everyone was really pissed off (it was at a law firm and all the volunteer guests were going to have to work late to make up the time spent filming). The canapés were massive, each one would have made a decent meal.

GorgeousPizza · 12/10/2019 17:35

I recruited someone into my company who came 4th on one series

Oscarsdaddy · 12/10/2019 17:42

A few years back they were filming at my local farm shop in Addlestone, Surrey. Word got around on social media so went down to have a look. Running around like headless chickens not knowing the difference between a carrot and a cabbage and you just have to wonder how much of it was just for show

Aridane · 12/10/2019 18:15

No, I haven't bit did see Nick Hewer at aHolborn Tube Station

Aridane · 12/10/2019 18:17

Would love to see them mid task and totally skew the result. So the sausage task round the corner from me at Leadenhall Market to say, hey, I want as many butties as you can make, I'll buy them all full, price

chomalungma · 12/10/2019 18:20

I love the ice lolly one.

£3.50 for a mini-milk. The buyer went down to £1. I would just love to see them squirm at the price.

Last week.

We'll want 40% commission
No - 3%
