I have always wondered this. Anyone ever been offered crap street food? Seen them running around shops looking for obscure items?

@OkayGo mainly because in one of his ‘first episode sound bites’ he described himself as a ‘pig in the business world’ or some other tripe. Ergo Business Pig.

Their heels get higher each time must be so uncomfortable

I always think the lighting in the boardroom does something to their eyes

Many moons ago back when the show was new and hot we saw one of the famous contestants in Oxford street. We were quite star struck. He was one of the stand out contestants who was really funny. Looking it up it was Tre from series 3

Near the end of series 3 when we were all excited to see who might win - a colleague came in one morning to say she had been sat next to one of them on the bus - so we surmised he he couldn't have possibly have won. Two weeks later he was the winner!

LittlePinguin · 11/10/2019 16:32

A few years ago the winning team that week came to my work for their 'treat' can't remember what the task had been

TellItLikeItReallyIs · 11/10/2019 16:35

A few years ago I saw the women's team selling edible products at the Angel in Islington. I recognised it as the Apprentice and stayed well away.

@WhiteVixen I couldn't think of anything more apt. He's the image of business pig

They once sold a skeleton in my (then) local pub. Didn’t see them though.

SmallPinkBear · 11/10/2019 16:53

My DH was approached for his expertise a few years ago, he gave them all the info they asked for and never heard from them again 🙄
My boss was on the last series in the footwear thing, she couldn’t believe how shit the designs were, she also got invited to the final 2 presentation but said it was v boring

OMGshefoundmeout · 11/10/2019 16:55

I have had some ‘tweakments’ from Leah the doctor who won one series. She now has three cosmetic and aesthetic procedure ‘Dr Leah’ clinics in the SE and is doing very well for herself as well as still working in the NHS. She seems very nice and is a very impressive young woman.

msmith501 · 11/10/2019 16:56

No but I fully recommend reading Sir Lord Sugar's two autobiographies. Badly written and full of "I did this wonderful thing and then I did an even better thing..." but still fascinating to read.

Ghostontoast · 11/10/2019 16:57

I saw them filming with Karen Brady in a Hampshire supermarket a while ago

Drivemecrazy1974 · 11/10/2019 16:57

The only good thing about The Apprentice now is that Tom Allen presents 'You're Fired'.

GobletOfIre · 11/10/2019 17:04

I saw them selling coffee once. It took a little while to sink in - as I was wondering why this very angry, over made-up women were running a coffee stall.

Roussette · 11/10/2019 17:08

Yes my DD has tried food offerings from them, once in the square she works in in London and once at the Tube station.

I have to admit Apprentice is my guilty pleasure. Yes, it's rubbish, yes it's contrived, yes it's ridiculous, but I can't resist.

Who remembers Stuart Baggs? He was wonderful!

Stuart Baggs The Brand!

Stuart - At the moment I'm a big fish in a small pond!
Claude - you're not a big fish. you're not a big fish. You're not even a fish.
Stuart - “I'm not a one-trick pony, I'm not a 10-trick pony. I've got a whole field of ponies, waiting to literally run towards this"

RIP Stuart, he died from an asthma attack at only 27 years old.

I used to work just off Bond street in central London in 2011, the 2010 runner up Chris Bates had an office next door to the company i worked for. Would always see him on his phone outside

girlwithadragontattoo · 11/10/2019 17:17

Another one to add, i lived off just off the Queens way central line, and saw Mary wheeling her suitcase. Everyone was looking at her and cars were beeping etc..

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 11/10/2019 17:18

Karen Bradey always looks she has just sniffed one of her own farts after a night on Guinness and curry

Janus · 11/10/2019 17:24

I had a friend whose house was used on the apprentice to shoot one of the commercials they make towards the end of the series. She wasn’t allowed to tell anyone so I was happily watching it one night and nearly fell off my chair when her lounge came on as I had no idea and had been in the house many times!!

MintyMabel · 11/10/2019 17:28

I’m not even guilty about it. I love it. Bake off too, the only reality TV worth watching. I watch them with 10 yo DD. It’s fun to see her point out how ridiculous Apprentice contestants are being.

TheSilveryPussycat · 11/10/2019 17:32

@Sundaymorningatwork2, l am so jealous. Nick is one of my secret crushes...

mintich · 11/10/2019 17:33

My ex was on the apprentice! He actually made the top 10 most memorable contestants...not for good reasons!!

BetsyBigNose · 11/10/2019 17:34

On the task where they look at (I think) 6 different products, then each team chooses 2 they want to try and sell, then they call up the designer/company/artist and gush about how wonderful their product is, in bid to get them to let their team try and sell their product, my best friend's husband was the Sales Director of a company that both teams wanted the product for, so he was on TV demonstrating it.

It was a really saleable product (it has gone on to sell millions), and the team that sold them won the task. It was several years ago now and he said it was a boring couple of hours of filming, that there was a lot of bitching and in-fighting between the contestants, but the publicity for the product was invaluable and saved them a fortune in advertising!

TheSilveryPussycat · 11/10/2019 17:35

A friend of mine knew Mr Pantsonoutside slightly, but disappointingly not enough to get the lowdown on the process.
