I have always wondered this. Anyone ever been offered crap street food? Seen them running around shops looking for obscure items?

I regularly get sent work from Climb Online, the agency that Mark Wright started with Lord Suggs

TheSilveryPussycat · 11/10/2019 19:26

It's really worth catching Claude on Would l Lie to You Grin

Skinnychip · 11/10/2019 19:33

I preferred Claude when he didn't know them and would show up for one episode and absolutely SAVAGE them

Solomon and the pictures of boats!! Claude told him to get out and he nearly tried to walk out of a window! 😂😂😂

Igotthemheavyboobs · 11/10/2019 19:34

Completely agree Roussette

Stuart Baggs The Brand was and will always be the best ever candidate! He was so entertaining, I was really sad to find out he had died, more so than most 'celebs'.

PineappleLumps · 11/10/2019 19:36

@KurriKurri absolutely not!! And certainly not those disgusting creations lol

PossiblyPFB · 11/10/2019 19:38

One of the more successful ones actually worked for me - left suddenly to “emigrate to Australia”.

msmith501 · 11/10/2019 19:39

Watch the Apprentice: Honest Subtitles....

Roussette · 11/10/2019 19:43

Igotthemheavyboobs he was wonderfully daft! Very popular and no side to him, unlike some of this lot.

TheVanguardSix · 11/10/2019 19:48

Stuart Baggs The Brand was and will always be the best ever candidate!

Absolutely! He was the best. The news of his death was terribly sad.
Claude and The Brand in a room together. It was probably that show's finest moment!
I do miss Nick and especially the earlier ones where Nick's (and Karen's) opinions were given a lot more airtime. Nick's facial expressions were priceless!

BadnessInTheFolds · 11/10/2019 19:54

@mintich you have my sympathies Grin

Did s/he seem similar on the show to how s/he did in real life?

I've always wondered if people actually pay for the crap they're trying to flog.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the business pitches are entirely fictitious, more of a "hypothetically which one would you buy and how much for?" They are obviously completely unable to produce products to actual delivery to a big retailer

It seems from the thread they really do sell balloons and coffee! I'd love to see them out in the wild so I could see how bad their products are.

But what about the tours and events? I can't believe noone asked for their money back on the girls South Africa tour! Maybe if you got other things that were provided by professionals (e.g. in the football premier experience, at least you got to be in the plexiglass box and see a football match, even if you were eating wotsits out of a paper bowl Grin)...

LikeTheFruit · 11/10/2019 19:56

@SpiritInTheNight was that outside Tynecastle?

kitk · 11/10/2019 19:57

Best thread ever! Business pig! 😂😂😂

Roussette · 11/10/2019 19:59

I think the girls have been very lucky so far. But it won't last.

Eeeeeby · 11/10/2019 20:10

I was approached by people hard selling pots of shit fruit salad, in the shopping centre at canary wharf. I thought it was odd but didn't twig it was the apprentice until I saw them on telly a month or two later.

ChestnutTalisman · 11/10/2019 20:18

I know one of the designers who featured a couple of times on the creating a product tasks a few years ago.

I knew one of the contestants too, in a different year.

ShirleyPhallus · 11/10/2019 20:23

I went on a date with one of them once. Really awkward, he was totally full of his own self importance and it was about 8 years ago now so I can’t even remember his name

My absolutely favourite moment ever was the lady called Edna who used to wear long dress gloves all the time and was the project manager one week. She got the whole group together and said “I’ve carefully assessed all your presentation qualities and the person id like to do the presentation is......... ...... me”

Makes me laugh every time

Bezalelle · 11/10/2019 20:25

Karen Bradey always looks she has just sniffed one of her own farts after a night on Guinness and curry

This is literally the best thing I've ever read on here!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 11/10/2019 20:31

@cheesewitheverything Lucinda! I loved her hats and her pained expressions every week 🤣

mintich · 11/10/2019 20:33

@badnessinthefolds he was in a fairly early series. The business pitches to comoanies were hypothetical but obviously treated as real by the company.
He was exactly how he was on tv, and most things were as seen on tv eg 20 mins to get ready, no phones/contact. Except the woman saying "sir Alan will see you now." She's not the real secretary.

Ghostontoast · 11/10/2019 20:40

Karen Brady was polite and non diva-like to me although I suspect I got in the way of their filmimg.

covetingthepreciousthings · 11/10/2019 20:45

I always think the lighting in the boardroom does something to their eyes *

I don't know whether they still do, but they used to put a grey / blue filter on the whole show, it does seem more toned down now. But I remember Chris Moyles asking on his breakfast show years ago, as he said it always looked a weird grey colour.

Fedupofballs · 11/10/2019 20:46

I was on a stall at Durham University recruitment fair one year and saw the ‘I had a scholarship at sandhurst’ guy (Ben Clarke according to google). This was a year or two after the show and he seemed quite interested with the ‘big four’ type recruiters (I was on a public sector stall).

I also saw the lady who ran my active birth class on an episode when they were selling at a festival. She didn’t buy anything!

chomalungma · 11/10/2019 20:54

I do wonder where they get their corporate clients from - and how much of the reaction is 'real'? How many takes do they get to get the perfect reaction..

If someone tried to flog me an ice lolly for £3, I don't think my reaction would be broadcastable.

rollon2020 · 11/10/2019 21:03

Yes! We were at a gaming event, asked if we would like to take part in something they are filming for the bbc, we couldn't as we had a train to catch. I said to DH I bet it's the apprentice tasks, and it was. Bit gutted we couldn't stay!

ContinuityError · 11/10/2019 21:03

DH was interviewed for the first series - got as far as the screen tests but blew it by (a) not being enough of a wanker and (b) slagging off Spurs.

I wasn’t too unhappy, as it would have been 12 weeks off work (unpaid) and it would have clashed just a wee bit with the arrival of DS2.
