To ask for the best twin names ever?

I have twin boys. I won't tell you their names but they are not related or themed. Think Dave and Tom rather than Jack and Daniel.

I do love hearing about twin names though and how different parents deal with it. Do you do obvious links, themes or just two completely different names?

Really Jennifer? Do you not think they would be refered to as the Kray twins??

IRememberSoIDo · 08/10/2019 19:29

@Sinkgirl I have two kittens called Frasier and Niles lol. All the twins I know have really normal names. There are twins in my dd's class called Ben and Holly. Their poor parents had gone through hell to have them and had no idea about the cartoon as it only really was becoming popular around the. Lol.

My twins, Ivan and Alexander, were named as they were born. They were both names we'd played around with before but not considered as a pair. We'd planned to not give them matching names and I was pretty pleased until pregnancy brain lifted a few days later and I realised that the nicknames of their historical namesakes were quite awkward together...

I know twins called Oliver and Olivia.
I seriously considered calling my b/g twins Arran and Isla. Good, Scottish names, go well with our surname... then someone suggested I turn them round, when they became Isla Arran. Glad I realised before they were born!
We joked about ailsa and Craig, and Craig and Tara, and Bonnie and Clyde, but went with two classic, "royal" names in the end up.

When I was pregnant with DTs, I collected mad twin names.
Gems included boy/girl twins called Bob and Bobina, girls called Scarlet’n’Jezebel and Janet’n’Jonet.
My mother knew elderly identical twins whose given names were Madeleine and Dorothy. All very well, except that they were slightly eccentric and insisted on being known as Maddy and Dotty.

I worked with somebody years ago who said if she had boys she would call them Bill and Ben. She had a girl and a boy so they're called Jill and Ben

dottiedodah · 08/10/2019 19:40

I know of twins who used to go to my DS school called Brom and Tom.... Tom is fine but Brom?! Can't understand why people would give their twins rhyming names. Also heard of someone calling their twins Rachel and Ross in my hometown but hoping that one was just a rumour! Grin

AlexaAmbidextra · 08/10/2019 19:48
