Expecting first baby and physically revolted by twee brand names...tommy tippee, cudl, cuggle (the worst offender) and the most ridiculous encountered so far...petunia pickle bottom, what the actual fuck?!

I can’t be the only one to have such a reaction - what brand names do you hate?

OP posts:
TroysMammy · 08/10/2019 08:29

Hollister - leg bags to collect urine for catheter users.

Straycatstrut · 08/10/2019 08:30

Cilit Bang... omg I always see clit bang....

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/10/2019 08:33

Costa.

Although that’s the shite quality of the coffee more than the name.

Proves that you can fool some of the people all of the time.

GeneHuntLover · 08/10/2019 08:36

There's a shop in my town called Bang Tidy lifestyle lounge, I've never been in because the name puts me off. I hate Keith Lemon and it reminds me of him

MockersthefeMANist · 08/10/2019 08:39

I hate Keith Lemon

You hate Leigh Francis. Keith Lemon is just a brand-name.

GeneHuntLover · 08/10/2019 08:43

I don't mind Leigh Francis when he's not Keith Lemon, but thank you

EcocabbyRickShaw · 08/10/2019 08:45

Jessica Simpson. I've been looking for a new handbag for AGES and I've seen three that I actually really liked. All of them had Jessica Simpson's name emblazoned on them. Why would I want the name of some random tits-hair-and teeth 'actress' on my bag?

I wouldn't, so I'm still in need of a new handbag.

FoodWoes · 08/10/2019 08:51

Boohoo. I mean why? Is it because people cry when they see the poor quality of the clothes?

Boots is quite annoying too. You wouldn't equate a pharmacy with them. They sound like a shoe shop.

Also my Nisa Local. It looks like Knee-sa. But in the radio I store they say Nicer Local Confused

ImNotReallyAWaitress · 08/10/2019 08:53

Ikea pronounciation - I live in Sweden, they say Ick-eea here.

Cif/Jif annoying name change but now living where I do I understand it, they don’t have hard J, think along lines of someone saying yeans instead of jeans or yewellery instead of jewellery.

So Jif was yif... which is the word furries use for dry humping each other.

www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/gwvrj/til_honda_were_to_release_the_fitta_in/

Honda tried to release the jazz as the fitta in Nordic countries - fitta means pussy and not in the cat sense. 🙈

snowball28 · 08/10/2019 08:54

But isn’t it par for the course for baby things to have twee sounding names? Is it not just marketing? Sure they’re a bit annoying but nothing that would make me want to vomit or die as PP have said lol.

Some of them are very funny but if the products excellent and at a reasonable price point then yeah I’ll buy it, don’t particularly care what it’s called lol

MockersthefeMANist · 08/10/2019 08:59

And let us not forget the Ford Pinto, Mexican slang for 'small penis.'

Mookins14 · 08/10/2019 09:22

TroysMammy

I'm from a town where Hollister equates to that too. And it's an American company too so they should have been aware of the colostomy bag brand.

DickAmbush · 08/10/2019 09:27

iCandy - tacky as fuck. I'd never heard of Icklebubba before, but it made my anus cringe itself inside out.

However, I love Smeg. They once had an advert suggesting "Cooking with Smeg" and the 13 year old in me couldn't stop sniggering Grin

neonglow · 08/10/2019 09:38

Fat willies surf shack

Sheld0r · 08/10/2019 10:04

FoodWoes mentioned BooHoo but what about Nasty Gal (now owned by BooHoo)

Who would buy clothes from somewhere called that?

lidoshuffle · 08/10/2019 10:24

A generic one, but I am repelled by any 'dirty' food; dirty burgers, dirty chicken etc. Just yeuk.

22Giraffes · 08/10/2019 10:57

I'm on the bus trying not to laugh too hard at these Grin agree that Pretty Little Thing is grim but Smeg(ma) makes me smile

GrandmaSteglitszch · 08/10/2019 11:21

Jif was yif... which is the word furries use for dry humping each other Shock

Whyever was that not made clear in the adverts, then? Grin

PinkOboe · 08/10/2019 11:22

Do how do you say superga?

I have a particular dislike for all the name & name brands:

Wild & Wolf
Wiloughby & wolf
Alex & Alexa
Scanp & dude
Tobias & the angel
Etc etc etc

GrandmaSteglitszch · 08/10/2019 11:30

Brain's Faggots. They were rebranded some time ago as Mr Brain's Faggots

Absolute genius.

TheSunAlsoRises · 08/10/2019 11:42

Angelcare baby camera and breathing thing. We have one and I hate it every time I see it.

WomanYesWoman · 08/10/2019 11:44

@pinkoboe SooPERga

I only know this because until about three days ago I thought they were Super-GAS and my friend kindly corrected me Grin

Zaphodsotherhead · 08/10/2019 11:53

Jo-Jo Maman Bebe - surely you have to pronounce it the French way? Otherwise it's Mammon Baby (unless they think this sums up their ethos more satisfactorily, where I'd have to admire their honesty.

attillathenun · 08/10/2019 12:15

anusol - my DH says anus oil every time he sees it in a shop. Same with germoloids, its the "loids" bit at the end that I hate. Any of the "vagina cleansing" brands are also awful and yes, why is it they need to advertise at dinner time?!?

Nasty Gal is just awful as well but apt because their clothes are just grim

verticality · 08/10/2019 12:17

Krispy Kreme. Everything about it is wrong. Donuts aren't crispy, and the word 'crispy' sounds like scabs when applied to cake. The Ks are the crowning glory, though.
