Expecting first baby and physically revolted by twee brand names...tommy tippee, cudl, cuggle (the worst offender) and the most ridiculous encountered so far...petunia pickle bottom, what the actual fuck?!

I can’t be the only one to have such a reaction - what brand names do you hate?

Pretty little thing and forever 21 suck.

The Shnuggle bath is fantastic so not using it purely for its name is weird, you’re missing out.

dayslikethese1 · 08/10/2019 12:43

Germoloids is pretty gross.

tectonicplates · 08/10/2019 13:30

I'm amazed nobody has mentioned Trojan condoms yet. Just so wrong.

PumpkinP · 08/10/2019 14:42

Also my Nisa Local. It looks like Knee-sa. But in the radio I store they say Nicer Local

There’s one right by my kids school and I am never sure if it’s Nicer, Nee sa, or Nis a, so I end up referring to it as “Whatever it’s called” 😂

Casander · 08/10/2019 14:48

@Quail15 I always joke with DH that Superdry is called as such because that's how it makes women feel when middle aged men wear it Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 08/10/2019 14:53

Re Boots the Chemist, Boot was the surname of the bloke who started it. (He could have called the shop something else, but it was in the days before smartarse branding came in.)

Disclaimer: I was at school with a descendant of the Boots clan and Boot was still a slightly odd name then.

VeryQuaintIrene · 08/10/2019 15:11

I saw a shop in Sardinia called Tequila BumBum, which I actually rather liked.

Musmerian · 08/10/2019 17:00

@ElsieMc. Less anussy!

St0pTryingT0MakeFetchHappen · 08/10/2019 17:58

Gant. I always think it sounds like slang for the male perineum

Cattenberg · 08/10/2019 19:06

Sweatshop. What were they thinking?

But I’ve always had a fondness for Oddbins. Also, when I lived in the Netherlands, I used to buy Basterd sugar.

BlameItOnBianca · 08/10/2019 19:15

Bosch.

Sounds vaguely violent.

Flightsoffancy · 08/10/2019 19:25

The cutesy baby stuff is awful. We particularly took against Snufflebabe, ugh.
And I hate it when food is described as a 'slab' - there are some new crisps out called Slabs and it makes me feel slightly sick.

JenniferM1989 · 08/10/2019 19:34

You learn something new everyday. I always thought jif changed to cif because those little lemon shaped juices were called jif 😂.

I imagined a big court case where jif and jif were battling for the name and the little lemon won!

Magpiefeather · 08/10/2019 19:34

Victorian Plumbing.

I don’t want my plumbing to be... Victorian

thecatneuterer · 08/10/2019 19:39

@Magpiefeather - I've always thought the same thing.

morrisseysquif · 08/10/2019 19:42

Ronhill - It is a sports brand but sounds like a cigarette brand

Anne Klein - my sister is called Anne and I don't like her

FoodWoes · 08/10/2019 19:45

😂 @ violent Bosch

I always thought the Slug and Lettuce pub lunch chains were very strange. Its not the most appetising mental picture.

meow1989 · 08/10/2019 19:50

I'm another one who didnt buy anything from ikkle bubba because of the name.

I also hate Nasty Gal and Smeg.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 08/10/2019 20:12

Victorian Plumbing.

I don’t want my plumbing to be... Victorian

(This and the other bathroom co called Victoria Plum)

I always think it is a play on the 1970s/80s doll/cartoon Victoria Plum!

GrandmaSteglitszch · 08/10/2019 20:39

Ronhill is a cigarette brand. Confused

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 08/10/2019 20:40

Do you mean Dunhill?

Ron Hill is a runner who later lent his name to the clothing brand.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 08/10/2019 20:49

A Japanese colleague told me that the Japanese writing on SuperDry products is an attempt at translating 'super dry' but comes out meaning something like 'transcendent dryness' or 'an overwhelming lack of moisture'.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 08/10/2019 20:50

Bounty. If you haven't yet discovered who is it I mean, I'm afraid you're about to find out. (Disclaimer: they have nothing to do with coconut).

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 08/10/2019 20:53

And the non-baby related ones: Anusol. For obvious reasons.

And 'Niceday'. As a name for stationery? WTF?

Mrsmadevans · 08/10/2019 20:55

CEX hate it
