It seems very out of character for Harry? Confused I wonder if he misinterpreted and thought she was asking about the lawsuit...

I would kindly tell the queen to leave me be if I wanted to take my family abroad.

elprup · 04/10/2019 19:49

It was also rumoured that press intrusion was the reason his two exes rejected his proposals of marriage.

That’s so sad if true.

I hope this is recent phone hacking allegations, if it from years ago then what is the point

I confess I wondered the same, but maybe it's best to wait until more's known about what he's accusing the two newspapers of ...

Boysey45 · 04/10/2019 19:57

I think hes on the edge of or having a mental breakdown.

stairway · 04/10/2019 20:01

I’m not a Harry farm but I don’t see the issue with that clip. I do think he’d feel much better stepping down from royal duties though. It’s not good for his mental health. I’m sure his BIL would offer him a job in the Markle sparkle family business.

Piers Morgan was editor of the Mirror back then. He'd have known about the hacking. Maybe it's the only way of getting him to shut the fuck up? And, to be quite honest, I hope it works because he's got an unhealthy obsession with Harry and Meghan. He's been remarkably quiet, on Twitter, since the announcement so we can live in hope.

No it isn’t sad, it’s the price they pay for all their wealth and privilege. There’s lots of sad things in the world, that doesn’t come close. Theres nothing to say he can’t stand down from office. The royals will always be vilified, because we just shouldn’t have them. As long as we have a monarchy it’ll always be the same. In these times of austerity, universal credit, rising homelessness, food banks etc most of us just can’t stomach the opulent displays of wealth by the royals. We just didn’t see it all years ago before the internet, but times have changed, people see the unfairness, it’s all just so wrong.

PortiaCastis · 04/10/2019 20:31

Standing up for himself against the disgusting media is not having a breakdown anyone else would have sued the kerb draggers ages ago and why on earth should the Queen's grandson be bullied from his own Country, I think this media and online bullying is vile and shows up people for what they are

Here’s the Financial Times’ take on ‘hot headed Harry’

TottieandMarchpane · 04/10/2019 22:49

It’s behind a paywall pitter

Cohle · 04/10/2019 22:56

If this is about the old phone hacking then it seems odd to be dragging it up again now.
It smacks of a personal grudge against Piers Morgan, and I'm not sure sinking to his level is a good idea.

Pitterpatterpettysteps · 04/10/2019 23:06

Sorry, I have a subscription, didn’t realise it was paywalled.

*As an Eton schoolboy, Prince Harry thought he had cracked the problem that has haunted his life. He could sidestep the journalists hounding his family by setting up his own newspaper with his brother Prince William and fill it with real royal facts. His friends politely laughed it off.

Fast forward a couple of decades and the Duke of Sussex, once seen as the royal family’s beaming rogue, is back on a mission to remake Fleet Street.*

TottieandMarchpane · 04/10/2019 23:10

Thanks.

I think the giftlink works only once @Pitterpatterpettysteps
Can you copy and paste the article text please?

minesagin37 · 04/10/2019 23:19

Why does anyone care tbh?

StartupRepair · 04/10/2019 23:22

I think the phone hacking suit is a direct attack on Piers Morgan.
It is undeniable that there is a racist under current in much of the hostility towards Meghan. However there are aspects of her that I find annoying that I hope and believe are unrelated to race.
For example I find the Sussex social media use is manipulative. The arty black and white shots, the videos set to music, like the one of Archy and Tutu set to 'o Happy Day'. No other royal account is so try-hard. It is run as an actor/influencer account and I find it mildly annoying. Especially as when in Australia Meghan told people that she loved her life without social media and didn't miss it. I don't believe my response is based on race.

CTRL · 04/10/2019 23:28

Celebrities don’t akways feel in the mood to talk to paparazzi...

I’m not sure why it’s a issue that Harry doesn’t want to either 🤷‍♀️

I feel like all of a sudden people switched on Harry since he married Megan, and I can guess the obvious reason why

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/10/2019 00:20

And what obvious reason is that, @CTRL?

QualCheckBot · 05/10/2019 00:30

It was also rumoured that press intrusion was the reason his two exes rejected his proposals of marriage.

Its also rumoured that it was because he wasn't faithful, was mean and had certain ahem not so healthy habits.

Its also rumoured that this batch of law suits is to try and deter worse revelations from coming out.

Before the court defenders come out, I will stress on their behalf that these are rumours, which is why I have included the word twice in the paragraphs above. And yes, of course, anyone can make up rumours about everything. But it would be a recognised tactic to use a lawsuit as a tactic in pre-empting further trouble/revelations.

Octonaught · 05/10/2019 05:17

I think Harry and Meghan May win a short term; Pyrrhic victory.
After that the press will turn on him even more.
Today the DM has run an article about his mother? I wonder how long they’ve been sitting on that?

Harry has totally ignored the fact that he has an unearned position of immense privilege. As an individual; he is nothing special.
Being a royal is a game, which the cannier ones realise you have to play to maintain.
Harry is acting like a litigious, Hollywood Celebrity.
I don’t see this ending well. I think it won’t be long before H&M move abroad.

RoseQuartzGlow · 05/10/2019 07:14

@StartupRepair
The whole Instagram thing annoys me too.
It feels very self absorbed and like a personal celebrity account, not members of the RF. On the one hand they are talking about the damage social media does, and wanting to ‘break the internet ‘. On the other, using social media to promote themselves and their interests, in a coy manipulative way.

StartupRepair · 05/10/2019 07:18

Yes. I also think it's worth pointing out that the Sky News reporter was not a paparazzi as a pp said but someone whose job was to report on his official visit.

RoseQuartzGlow · 05/10/2019 07:21

Personally I think they have got wind of other stories about them that are about to be published. Or the Markles are about to get themselves wound up again. They’re trying to make it much harder by showing they are willing to be litigious.

Rhubarbisevil · 05/10/2019 07:23

I don’t think the clip was that bad either.

It is protocol that he does not open the door himself in public. The fact that he went to open the door means that, at home, he does open the door. So, as he was in public, he stopped himself and let the official open the door otherwise the official would have got a bollocking afterwards.

TottieandMarchpane · 05/10/2019 07:54

Nevermind the door handle.

The problem is the dreadful way he spoke to the journalist. (Sky News’ Royal Correspondent, in point of fact. Well known to him. Part of the official press pack. Not a paparazzo.)
