It seems very out of character for Harry? Confused I wonder if he misinterpreted and thought she was asking about the lawsuit...

Harry is now taking legal action against the Sun and the Mirror for phone hacking

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2019 18:27

I don't know why people think MM has had it worse

How many people are currently serving prison sentences for planning to assassinate Kate's family due to the colour of her skin?

Hang on ... that sounds as if it's implying that someone's serving a sentence for planning to assassinate Meghan's family

Surely not?

ChicCroissant · 04/10/2019 18:39

Interesting that the Palace seems to be handling the announcement about this one. Probably planned well in advance but let's hope Harry is willing to listen to the advisers this time around.

Thta's dreadful, hippo - I genuinely hadn't heard about the case, but how absolutely appalling Shock

Bit of a turn up for the books about the hacking allegation, too. There's a world of difference between commenting on what folk choose to make public and illegal hacking, so if it's really happened I hope the hackers get taken for everything they've got

angell84 · 04/10/2019 18:50

Harry is now taking legal action

TottieandMarchpane · 04/10/2019 18:54

The BBC seems to think it’s the hacking of 15-20 years ago that is the subject of the legal action.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 04/10/2019 18:55

According to the BBC news website

The BBC has not yet established when the allegations date from. However, Jonny Dymond, the BBC's royal correspondent, says: "The presumption is this goes back to the phone hacking scandal of the early 2000s."

So might be old news.

Maybe Buck House are getting on board now because, when they wouldn’t support him previously, he just went ahead and issued his own statement.

Maybe his MH is actually quite fragile and he’s lost patience with everyone. Didn’t he say something recently about being unable to get out of bed because all the bad things in the world depressed him?

angell84 · 04/10/2019 18:59

Poor harry. I really like him.
Also - it is not easy losing a mother at 11

MissEliza · 04/10/2019 19:01

@joyfullittlehippo some of us actually have lives! I was wasting time of Mumsnet earlier while I sat in the freezing cold watching a child running! But now I have things to do because I actually have a life so I'm not going to sit all night arguing with people online. I'm not hiding!

Dongdingdong · 04/10/2019 19:04

poor Camilla was ripped to shreds for years.

Hmm “Poor” Camilla? Please.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2019 19:21

Okay, so it seems we don't know what the hacking allegations relate to and may not for a while

I've no knowledge of these things, but according to the Guardian, "submitting the papers" comes ahead of an actual prosecution, and the claimant has several months to decide whether to press ahead with it

ChicCroissant · 04/10/2019 19:27

I have thought that too Tottie. I did say the other day (possibly on another thread) that he needs to take a step back at the moment.

TottieandMarchpane · 04/10/2019 19:36

This situation since he married must be hitting all his trigger points. He’s not used to criticism and negativity from the press and he obviously feels driven to protect his wife and baby.

It was also rumoured that press intrusion was the reason his two exes rejected his proposals of marriage. So between that and the loss of his mother, he probably associates hostile media with losing people.

The ill-judged, over-emotional press release earlier in the week starts to make some kind of sense if you consider it in that light.

angell84 · 04/10/2019 19:43

It cant be nice having your mother and wife attacked all the time. It is the downside to being a royal . I bet if Harry had his way he would just move to the USA, but he Queen probable wants him to stay

elprup · 04/10/2019 19:48

Honestly if I was Harry and Meghan I would just jack it all in and move to the US with my millions. I wonder if they will?
