It seems very out of character for Harry? Confused I wonder if he misinterpreted and thought she was asking about the lawsuit...

I think Harry has admitted many times that he doesn't want his role. It's not as easy to just walk away and become a private citizen. The Queen expects him to take up a lot of the slack now she is elderly and so is Charles. Basically, William and Harry are going to have to carry the show. He knows this and is trying to live up to it. Unfortunately his wife doesn't want to be a part of the show, she is off writing her own script in which she expects him to have a starring role. He's in a conflicted situation and struggling. He has admitted he's had counselling and mental health issues in the past. I'm sure it's horrible for him to read the vitriolic press. It's just a shame that neither of them are trying to turn it around or look at their part in it all. No doubt Meghan is sitting reading it all in tears and he is very upset by it. I do wonder though why she made much of never reading the press when she clearly does.

I worked near the nursery that employed young Diana Spencer before her engagement. You had to fight through the reporters hanging out to catch a glimpse of her to get to the office. I should imagine that would have been the same for any company employing Kate Middleton.

@MauritiusNext I didn't say Trump has blacked up.

Trump has on the other hand mocked disabled individuals, described Mexicans as rapists/drug traffickers, repeatedly lied, offered to buy a nation, accused a free impartial press of being 'fake news', been cited in cases of deaths/murders by white supremacists. There's a whole host more, but no you carry on with your straw man argument. As I said - I'd love to be as naive as you - it would make my life experiences so much better. So long as Trump hasn't blacked up, he's fine. He talked about grabbing women by the 'pussy', he lies daily. He nick-names and shames people all the time but yes you're right, he hasn't blacked up and therefore deserves an award. A lot of his team has left or been implicated in nefarious dealings. But no you're right.. what would bring him down is that he hasn't blacked up.

Thank God!

“Unfortunately his wife doesn't want to be a part of the show, she is off writing her own script”

Can you list a single royal thing Meghan should have done but didn’t?

Seedling111 · 04/10/2019 17:18

@BertrandRussell
Actively get involved in a cause she genuinely believes in?

Rachelover60 · 04/10/2019 17:18

I thought that too, Bertrand. I don't think she has put a foot wrong so far. We know nobody is perfect, do we want them to be? I don't expect perfection but I think the couple are pleasant from what I know and the media are horrible! What gets me most of all is that so many of the GBP believe what they read.

PortiaCastis · 04/10/2019 17:19

Amazing how many people on the internet know the woman so well that they even know what she's thinking

BertrandRussell · 04/10/2019 17:19

Because of all the things about Meghan people criticise, the idea that she is reluctant to do royal duties is one of the oddest. She seems to me to do the ribbon cutting and walk abouting very well. Lots of smiles and warmth and friendliness. And so does Harry.

BertrandRussell · 04/10/2019 17:21

“Actively get involved in a cause she genuinely believes in?”
Sorry? You think she hasn’t done this? Hmm

I am pretty sure I actually read complaints that she was doing too much and people were sick of seeing her or that she was in the limelight too much.. the level of stupidity is abysmal.

MissEliza · 04/10/2019 17:29

I read that the press would not only stalk KM outside her work etc but call her names like slag, bitch to get her to react and therefore get a negative picture. What a way to earn a living.

PortiaCastis · 04/10/2019 17:29

Stupidity and bullshit abounds though and people believe it never questioning whether it's true or not.
This is the problem

This man seems to have summed it all up well, and I should imagine a lot of people agree with him.

MissEliza · 04/10/2019 17:59

@joyfullittlehippo I am speaking specifically about press treatment, nothing else. However you do realise members of the royal family get serious threats, including death threats, all the time?

PortiaCastis · 04/10/2019 17:59

Don't know about crticise, hatchet job is more accurate

BertrandRussell · 04/10/2019 18:01

@morningcoffee22 Do you know who the writer of that article is, and the other causes he espouses and people he attacks? You might want to check before you align yourself with him.

morningcoffee22 · 04/10/2019 18:13

The disgusting treatment of his poly ponies tells me all I need to know about him. Just vile.

He's now suing for phone hacking...

PortiaCastis · 04/10/2019 18:16

Harry's taking the Sun and Mirror to court for hacking his phone
