Admittedly, it was not perfect (full of quiches and Queen Bees). So much so that I gave it a rest for a considerable while. I may even have Flounced at some point (though was not a Mouldie. I would never have been cool enough).

But I now mourn the Olden Days when nobody had to bother with "lighthearted" when a thread was evidently lighthearted. Nobody took everything quite so seriously, even when they would have good reason to.

Posters generally had a decent command of spelling and grammar, too.

Maybe I'm just old and need to take up knitting or something.

Probably why i keep coming back to this thread.
I think its nice to reminisce, i still miss the mn meet ups, they were such fun, although something always seemed to happen that became a thread on mn.

I actually do think you want people to gush over you Hullygully and that is why you find the current version of MN where you are one among many not so much to your liking.

I still cringe when I remember mistaking another poster's tone on a thread - I thought they were joking when in fact they were serious. I felt awful and apologised but to this day I've swerved any thread I've noticed them on since.

Obviously I have issues. But I'm pretty sure that I can't be the only MNer that feels bad about getting it wrong with other posters. We're not unfeeling, us old timers.

WickedFairy, I was not one of Hully's chums in the olden days (was a complete and utter nobdie, in fact). So why do I find the current version of MN not to my liking, either? Methinks there is some flawed logic in your contention. [there isn't a chin-scratching smiley].

I'm hardly getting personal Glenda, I haven't called anyone sad or a wicked fairy for instance. I am just putting across a point of view that another poster cannot or will not accept (as have other posters who have been equally dismissed).

Unsurprisingly the reaction of Hullygully proves rather than disproves what I and others have said.
