To think my Mil should stop mentioning nursery every we see her?

My Mil always mentions nursery when she is here. She keeps saying dc won't get into a good school if he doesn't go to nursery because primary schools have a "feeder" nursery school. Is that the case? Also AIBU to think how me and dh raise our dc is none of her business and to mention the same thing every time she is here is rather annoying?

It means she was asked to be a governor without being elected to fill a vacancy. Chances are she has specific skills that met a particular need.
Why the fuck didn’t you just ask her instead of this cloak and dagger nonsense?

She talks non stop about herself, about how we should raise our dc, how we should live our lives and how extended family members should live and raise their kids. It's hard to get a word in. I tend to nod and have it go in one ear and out the other and I don't really ask her many questions

I have just checked the admissions criteria for the school she is co-opted Governor at and nursery isn't one of them. They have admission criteria for past 4 years and nursery isn't mentioned.

If he is only 21 months you can wait until you get the "free" 30 hours funding when he is 3 and put him into the feeder nursery (if there is one) then. They won't have a requirement for everyone to attend the nursery from age 6 months, only to attend it in the year before they start school. Most kids go to nursery or preschool at that age.

"You're right MIL, we've looked into it and put his name down to do 2 mornings a week after he turns 3"

@beanbag7 requiring kids to attend nursery to get a school place is now illegal.
