My little dog often refuses to get up on to the sofa unless I lift him with my legs. He will stand on my feet and wait for me to elevate my legs and then use them as a plank to walk on to the sofa, somehow it started when he was a tiny puppy and he's got into the habit of doing it constantly now.

It's a small thing that I love, he also squeezes himself under the sofa and will pop out the bottom when I hoover. Although he's struggling to do this since he's a little chunkier now Grin

My cat jumps on the kitchen table when I am stood with my back to him at the sink and then he touches my back with his paw to say I'm here, feed me please.

sashh · 27/09/2019 04:18

My cat likes to be with me (if she isn't outside doing kitty business or visiting my neighbours) she will follow me from room to room and normally sleeps on my hip in bed.

Unless I have a male visitor. Then they are her best friend and must be saton. She will also lie on her back asking for belly rubs.

But she is a bit thick and as she lies on her back tarting as it has been named she will bang her head. When the weather gets warm we look forward to the 'first donk of summer'.

The Yodel delivery driver stopped to film her last week.

MoodyBitch · 27/09/2019 06:04

The way he puts his front legs on my thighs so he's stood on his hind legs, then hooks his leg round my neck to cuddle my head to his chest while his head rests on my shoulder or on top of mine.
Really protective.

silly0ne · 27/09/2019 07:20

My little cat (she is small) will sit by my side gazing at me with a slightly open mouth. She looks so sad and vulnerable that I just have to play with her or feed her. She also touches my face, very gently with her paw and gives a creaky little 'meow' when she wants me to get up (and feed her).

I do not know much about cat behaviour, but do they learn exactly what pushes our human 'nurturing' response?

sunnyshowers · 27/09/2019 07:52

My dog rubs my leg with her paw to be lifted up. Then she puts both legs either side of my neck and rubs her head against mine. A proper hug.
She does it to dogs of the same breed too...apparently its a thing they do.
She just hugs a lot...i love her soooo much

Aprilsinparis · 27/09/2019 08:05

My King Charles likes to come upstairs when I go to bed, and he snuggles up really close. In the night I wake up, and find he has his paw on my neck and his face resting on mine, and he does exactly the same when we lie on the sofa.
God, I absolutely adore him😍

U2HasTheEdge · 27/09/2019 08:19

When one of my dogs gets excited or a bit anxious he has to go pick up something soft and carry it in his mouth. The second DH is heard coming in he goes running for a teddy, or anything soft and sits by the door with it in his mouth.

One of my other dogs still sucks soft toys like she is feeding.

I think I need to post the picture of my other dog's pose he loves to do.

saltysally · 27/09/2019 09:33

Cockapoo will stop when we are out on a walk to stand on her back paws to wrap her front paws around my leg and hug it for a pat. Strangers think it is adorable, I know the lazy sod is trying to get out of walking further.

LoseLooseLucy · 27/09/2019 09:37

Shih Tzu. Won’t drink water, at all, only milk, or his absolute favourite, an unattended coffee Confused

adaline · 27/09/2019 09:43

If I'm upset my dog comes and sniffs my face and then licks away my tears - which although very cute often makes me cry more and then I end up covered in dog kisses!

He also comes and lies on top of me first thing in the morning and licks my eyes to make sure I'm alive 😂

honeyloops · 27/09/2019 10:02

My cat runs over and chirps when I brush my hair because she wants brushing too, it's very cute. She also will not settle for the night unless I've walked with her to her bed, and then she can curl up and shut her eyes - she always opens them again like she's checking if I'm there, then she'll go to sleep. Funny little nugget.

sashh · 27/09/2019 10:04

My old cat Charlie was a tusedo puss, if I'd been out and he was out he would be sitting on the doorstep like a bouncer, then he HAS to be the first in, I would some times only open the door an inch and he would gethos paws in.

He would follow me and a friend to the pub, he wouldn't cross the main road, he would sit opposite us watching us through the window.

I used my old laptop with a stand - perfect for a cat. Even more perfect when there is a box near by.

If I lie on my front my little dog will curl up in the small of my back and sleep.

He does "silent mode" barking at night where he woofs by puffing air out of his mouth with his cheeks Grin

DingDongDenny · 27/09/2019 10:09

My cat is obsessed with shoes. I think because when he was a kitten I used to put his toys in my slipper boot and he would love to fish them out. Now I quite often find him with his paws in one of my shoes like he is wearing it

Zzoomburr · 27/09/2019 10:10

My dog sleeps on my bed with me, and each morning follows me down the stairs, stopping at the top for a stroke or a tickle behind the ears, then carries on till half way down where she stops and waits for me to do it again. Once she’s had her two bits of love she races down stairs before me. However many times we go up and down the stairs she only does that first thing in the morning!

Daffodil2018 · 27/09/2019 10:14

When my cat is particularly happy she throws her head back and emits a little miaow of pure joy. It is the sweetest thing ever and makes up for her otherwise flouncy attitude.

Shannith · 27/09/2019 10:21

Mine follow me about like I'm the pied piper.

Me - dog - cat. When I go to the loo they both sit and stare at me. I tell them they are stupid animals but I love it really.

Chattybum · 27/09/2019 10:22

My gorgeous little sprocker spaniel goes to sleep in our bed but gets off and heads to her basket shortly after, and then as soon as the alarm goes off she puts her front paws up on my side of the bed and drums her tail against my bedside cabinet until I wake up, roll over and pick her up. She then sleeps in my arms, snuggled up against me. Then my partner wakes up rolls over and spoons both of us until we get fed up of snoozing the alarm and get up. We have done this every single morning and it's the best way in the world to start the day. She's will also gently put her face over anyone's face who she seems is talking too loudly or too much. I love this about her.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 27/09/2019 18:16

This is a lovely thread Grin

My tabby boy, when perplexed stands like Charlie Chaplin (front and back legs). He looks like such a doofus Grin

My topgirl is obsessed with sweat; she gets all amorous with my discarded gym kit Hmm and insists on giving me an Indian head massage when my hair is all sweaty Confused

New cat is very sensitive; she'll snuggle into me and lick my tears away if I'm upset. She also lets rip 'silent but violent' farts and has to be banished Grin

ThisIsAllaMooPoint · 27/09/2019 18:25

Doesn’t matter how hungry my cat is, she always expects a cuddle before she eats. She’ll be screeching the place down for her food, I put I down but she flop wanting a few strokes before attacking her bowl

FairyDogMother11 · 27/09/2019 18:34

My dogs both spoon my DH, I come in from work to find one curled round him behind and one curled round in front. They will also lay on me if I am ill. Also like to help themselves to my tea and coffee when it's on the coffee table cooling ConfusedGrin

Dog1 loves being tucked up in a blanket at bedtime, she also loves being picked up and rocked like a baby... She's a saluki lurcher so not light but it's she loves it so much I'll continue as long as my back can take it!!
Dog2, in the morning she is so happy to see me she's wagging her entire back end, not just her tail!
Our parakeet sits at the corner of his cage and asks for a "tickle tickle" when he wants a fuss.

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 27/09/2019 18:39

One of my dogs talks to me. When I come in he goes "aaaaahhhh-ooooooooo" when I say hello. Then I ask him what a sort of a day he's had and he responds with a series of woofs and growly noises Grin

When my daughter was little, I used to pretend I was surprised at what he was telling me and say something like "stop being ridiculous! Of course you haven't been waterskiing!" My daughter used to think the dog spent all day making up places he'd been to tell me when I came in Grin

tierraJ · 27/09/2019 18:44

My rescue cat is very very nervous and won't go outside.
But her catnip toys help her relax. Every few hours she likes to lie in them & zone out.
Here's a pic.
