My little dog often refuses to get up on to the sofa unless I lift him with my legs. He will stand on my feet and wait for me to elevate my legs and then use them as a plank to walk on to the sofa, somehow it started when he was a tiny puppy and he's got into the habit of doing it constantly now.

It's a small thing that I love, he also squeezes himself under the sofa and will pop out the bottom when I hoover. Although he's struggling to do this since he's a little chunkier now Grin

What an absolute gem of a thread 💕

My cat curls round my feet and licks all round my toes. It's exquisite agony

MrsCatEThigh · 26/09/2019 23:38

@Grambler I have the same experience however, BastardCat loves husband; just can't be arsed with me and is EVIlL. He has bitten me, for no reason. I never retaliate, just well up and cry 'I lurvve you; why?' I blubber. He is an absolute Bas$ard.

FurrySlipperBoots · 26/09/2019 23:39

Our border collie walks behind and paws the back of our heels like a kitten with a ball of wool when it's her dinner time, and we're walking to get a scoop of food to fill her bowl.

Campurp · 26/09/2019 23:42

I'm loving these! My Cat follows me around the house but at a cool distance. He pretends he is t but he's always 10 steps behind me.

He also loves playing with pipe cleaners made into a ball. If one goes under the sofa you'll see him stretching underneath with his arms trying to get it out lol... it's hilarious.

Funghi · 26/09/2019 23:47

My cat loves having wet feet. When it rains, he’ll run into the garden and get his paws wet and then will do a run up to the kitchen and sort of bowl himself in so he slips and slides all over the floor tiles and then does parkour off of the furniture. He’ll repeat it until he tires himself out.

If the door is closed and it rains, he’ll shout the house down until it’s opened.

I’ll hear him playing from upstairs, he sounds like a horse galloping and then random excited ‘purrps’ after a particularly good move.

OneThreadOnly0101 · 26/09/2019 23:49

One of my cats is also a dog. Follows me everywhere and can be "walked" off-leash... He has a favourite patch of green near ours and will sprint full pelt every time we get there. I didn't know cats sprinted just for hell of it, but this one does. He also accompanies me to the bathroom and sits on the unit next to the toilet - it's the perfect height for nose nibbling while I'm mid-business and if I'm not facing him, he will paw at my face until I come closer.

Other cat clocks when we're going to bed and every night, without fail, makes sure she's on the duvet before we get there. Usually sprawled on her back, paws up, awaiting tummy tickles. She's a very nervous cat and when we're on foot she's never completely relaxed, but once we're horizontal we are no longer a threat Grin

Crimebustersofthesea · 26/09/2019 23:51

Dog sleeps upstairs with us, sometimes in our bed, sometimes on his own. If he's being particularly fidgety DH banishes him to his own bed. On those occasions he always, without fail, gets up onto our bed at 6am. But he does it incredibly stealthily, gently putting each paw on the bed, testing the best spot to remain undetected. Until he's actually on the bed when he flops all 35 kg of himself on top of someone and makes a massive, 'I'm so pleased with myself', grunt. Guess he thinks it's too late for us to stop him then Grin

PizzaCrunch · 26/09/2019 23:56

My cat follows me to the loo and sits in the shower until I'm done.

Ifeelinclined · 27/09/2019 00:04

@Leighhalfpennysthigh you have some wonderful dogs! How sweet!

BarbedBloom · 27/09/2019 00:04

One of my current cats will only drink water from an actual glass. She thinks she is a queen. She also likes to tie string around things, especially things she loves.

My cat that died young was the sweetest, softest cat I have ever known. He was literally obsessed with me and would follow me like a shadow and sleep curled up in my arms all night. As soon as I got into bed he would scratch at the cover till I made room. I miss him so much it hurts sometimes. He really pulled me through some dark times.

His sister never liked me much, but she liked to walk to the shop with me. She would sit outside washing and then walk back with me.

Our current cats love my husband more than anything in the world. They know what time he gets home and sit at the front door waiting for him. As soon as he is home I might as well be dead Grin

Cantstopgrazing · 27/09/2019 00:04

Lovely thread. I have a few:

My cat insists on sleeping snuggled up to me with his cheek against mine and with his front paws wrapped around my arm. I then have to rub his tummy until he falls asleep Hmm

My dog will climb on to my chest and push his cheek against my mouth so that you kiss him. If you try to watch tv or look at your phone whilst he does this he will block your view every time. If you persist in not giving him your full attention, he will lay across your face so his neck (under his chin) is pushed against your mouth and he will stay there until he's had his fill of kisses.

My other dog insists on climbing inside whatever top I'm wearing so that she's snuggled next to my skin.

Ohbuggerlugs · 27/09/2019 00:11

Every single morning my girl has her excited wiggle bum on jumps on me (at anytime from 12am) rolls around on me, and then lies next to me asleep. She seriously is just something else. There is a new level of love i feel. X

Rredlorryyellowlorry · 27/09/2019 00:18

Dcat will always want to sit under my laptop because he loves the warmth. If I try to stop him he just keeps nudging the lid until I give in

Ddog loves my childhood toys. She has never ripped one apart. When she's in a very loving mood she'll come into the house to fetch a particular toy when her favourite dog walker / second most favourite person ever brings her home and carry it back out to dog walker to say thanks.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 27/09/2019 00:22

My large female rabbit thinks she is a dog and every morning is let in so she can have her breakfast, if you are not quick enough to let her in, she scratches at the back door, and when she gets to the fridge she scratches at that too. My little Male rabbit is so laid back and lazy ( super old for a little rabbit but has always been lazy) floops in then expects to be hand fed tit- bits and given all the love, my children like to have him sat with them at breakfast, feeding him brussel sprouts and the odd rice Krispy. I'm dreading the day we lose him.

lesleyw1953 · 27/09/2019 00:23

My spaniel always carries a ball - but she also is desperate to lick me when she sees me on my return home. So she does this sort of frantic wild-eyed dance whilst trying to reconcile her need to hang on to the ball with her need to cover me in doggy kisses.

Cantstopgrazing · 27/09/2019 00:27

Our cat also comes on the dog walks with us and when we get to the park, if there are too many unknown dogs around, he'll wait for us at the entrance (under a bush or something), but if it is relatively quiet he'll come into the park with us.

It's very sweet.

LemonPrism · 27/09/2019 00:29

My dog used to sit with one of his back legs totally in the air. Or with one front paws up and flopped like a Dino hand

newreality1 · 27/09/2019 00:49

My dog will be busy playing with her toys then suddenly look up at me and jump on me and lick me then jump off and carry on doing what she was doing. It's as if she is letting me know she hasn't forgotten about me!

She also drops her favourite toys in open schoolbags. My daughter has often got to school and texted me to let me know a bone or teddy has been left in her bag.

BoomBoomBoomLetMeHearYouSay · 27/09/2019 00:52

My cat will touch your chest with his paw if he wants more patting. Aw!

PeachesPlumsPears · 27/09/2019 00:56

One of my dog is very sensitive - if I'm upset, he will put his head on my lap or paw my knee. If I ignore him and continue to cry, he will start barking very loudly to tell everybody just in case they don't know I'm upset. Smile

My other dog does not bark at all inside the house, so in the middle of the night if he wants to go to the toilet, he will get the other dog to bark and wake me up so I can take him outside. They must communicate telepathically.

rededucator · 27/09/2019 01:32

When my dog sits beside me he'll lick my hand til I lift it. He'll then lick behind my watch (salt? Smell?) until I put it down and will then rest his face in my hand. It brings tears to my eyes.

Curious2468 · 27/09/2019 01:41

My hedgehog likes to snuggle in to my hand and snuffle herself round till she is upside down and then peep at me

@madamedesevigne

My cat has a snaggle tooth too and this exact thing happens with him! He tends to look at us with a really perplexed expression when it happens, which adds to the hilarity.

Jasmin82 · 27/09/2019 02:05

Resident Collie shoves her head under your hand to demand fuss. If you move your hand away after what she deems an insufficient amount of time, she will put her left paw on your arm. If you are using a computer or laptop, her paw is aimed at the keyboard.
We have discovered that Resident Collie has some impressive IT skills through this quirk. Sadly, her IT skills are not of the helpful kind (screen rotation, programmes and applications hitherto unknown opened) when you are trying to type university reports.
