Boris Johnson should resign

He's lied to the Queen and shut down parliament illegally. He's not fit to be PM and should resign now.

I don't think he'll resign. I think he's actually loving all this.

Saddler · 24/09/2019 15:26

None of this would happen if the MPs voted in parliament as per the majority of their electorates' wishes

Really222 · 24/09/2019 15:28

Did the ERG and DUP vote as their constituents’ wishes?

NearlyGranny · 24/09/2019 15:32

Still time for him comfortably to break George Canning's 1827 record of 118 days in office.

And Canning couldn't help it; he died!

Nonnymum · 24/09/2019 15:40

Quite a few people trying to convince themselves Brexit won't happen on 31st October this year.It will

But even if it does, it won't be over, then we will have years of negotiating trade deals. Because even though they tslj about no deal, the govt. Know in reality we still need to have agreements with the EU

marvellousnightforamooncup · 24/09/2019 15:43

I'd love it if he had the shortest and least successful time as PM in British history.

Seeing as he broke the law and all, would they allow him in the Lords? Probably. He'd be one of those rocking up to show face and get paid after having had a good dinner and then getting a cab to the apartment of his latest shag.

Userzzzzz · 24/09/2019 15:52

I also have issue with prominent journalists being the mouth pieces for no.10 on Twitter. They seem to be repeating ‘a source’ says with no interrogation. It is feeding a judiciary v the people rhetoric which is incorrect and dangerous. I think attacks on the judiciary by government are very worrying indeed.

Limensoda · 24/09/2019 15:57

Seeing as he broke the law and all

He didn't actually break the law at the time. His action has since been judged unlawful, not illegal.
His actions are all self serving. He has no interest in what people do or don't want. He has no majority in Parliament so it looks like now he will have to ask for an extension and get a general election but I doubt he can remain as PM going into that election.
I think he will have to resign or be removed.

randomchap · 24/09/2019 16:23

YABU, he needs to stay to deliver the extension request to the EU. Then he can resign

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 24/09/2019 16:26

Yanbu, the sooner the better and good fucking riddance to him. I'd be happier still if he took Cummins and that odious cunt Rees-Mogg with him.

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 24/09/2019 16:28

Why should MPs vote just in line with what their constituents voted anyway? They are there to represent ALL their constituents not just those who voted leave.

NearlyGranny · 24/09/2019 16:32

Yeah, but kind of embarrassing to be the PM who pushed so hard at a legal boundary that a full bench of supreme court judges has to turn out to decide where it got breached.

M
Not his greatest hour.

LayLar360 · 24/09/2019 16:38

And Canning couldn't help it; he died!

Here's hoping...

minesagin37 · 24/09/2019 16:42

He's not fit to lead. He should go. It's not a sufficient reason to say 'well Brexit will be tricky'. All the more reason to have a trustworthy person leading!

Cinammoncake · 24/09/2019 16:49

It's great to have had so many responses and votes. Looking pretty solidly 80/20 in favour of him resigning from MN!

OP posts:
amicissimma · 24/09/2019 17:12

It seems to me that, as parliament don't seem to be able to agree on any course of action, he should call for a General Election.

Oh, hold on a minute, he did, and they didn't agree to that, either.

Really222 · 24/09/2019 17:30

Yes and they made it obvious why.

pigsDOfly · 24/09/2019 17:51

Why do people keep repeating, not just on mn, that he offered the opposition an election. Poor Boris, he made the offer and they refused it so it's their fault we don't have a date for an election.

Of course they refused and for a very good reason. It was just more gamesmanship on his part. Sensibly, they know not to trust him.

Limensoda · 24/09/2019 17:57

I concur....They would have been mad to agree.

nonmerci · 24/09/2019 17:59

Won't we just get another (even worse) Tory we didn't ask for?

Not many worse than Bojo. Rees-Mogg is probably the worst of the bad bunch but Bojo the clown is second worst.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 24/09/2019 18:02

Sorry ladies I don;t think Boris will be going anywhere soon,It transpires Boris too his decision from the advice given to him by The Attorney General. After he assured Boris nothing was unlawful about his planned action Boris sent officials to the Queen, If anyones going it will be the Attorney General....I can feel the spin doctors working overtime tonight! Boris I think isn;t a worried man,

I don't think it's extremist to try and make sure the government follows the law.

Helmetbymidnight · 24/09/2019 18:21

its extreme to expect our unelected pm to obey the law.
totally out there.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 24/09/2019 18:29

He isn’t going anywhere

The Tories are too split to put up and fight and so are Labour

Though the Tories will overwhelmingly get behind him if they fear losing an election

He pulls through this it’s a win win for Boris at the next election
